Front suspension squeak
I recently installed some swift springs on my car, and now I have this horrendous squeak coming from the front suspension now- I remember reading about this somewhere on the forum, but I haven't been able to search it up again.
I figured the problem was the top hat on the strut was slightly rotated compared to the bolting point at the bottom of the strut. I removed the drivers side strut assembly, and sure enough, that did appear to be the issue. I rotated it back and reinstalled the strut, this time realigning much better... and now it seems louder then before! What's going on??
I also checked to make sure that rubber piece on the spring was fully separating the spring from the strut, and it did appear to do so. My question is- does the strut and top hat need to be 100% perfectly aligned with one another to have no squeak?
Is there something else that can cause the squeak?
