Struts and Shocks that last?
Hi everyone I went in for an alignment and found out that my passenger side strut is bad and needs to be replaced. My question is what are a good brand of struts and shock that will last but, don’t brake the bank? These would be for a lowered 370Z? I was thinking possibly Tockico struts and shocks? I really don’t want to do coil overs though.

As for your question the tokico from what I’ve read are not the route to go. Your better with koni or bilstein but none will last as long as you want with lowering springs. |

You can’t go wrong with Koni Sport.

Why not a used set of OEM shocks?
What $ do you consider breaking the bank?

What have you read? I'd always planned to go with Tokico Blue's when my shocks wore out but don't know much about them... Not sure what the OP's reasoning is, but I haven't been interested in coils as I don't want to mess with the adjustment and my car is strickly a street car.

when the car comes back out in a couple weeks i'll have 71k miles on the clock. want to get new shcoks and springs. everyone says coilovers, but thats 1k give or take, then another 500 in camber arms and adjustables to get the alignment back in check. i'll probably end up going to nissan and getting a set of oem struts, shocks, springs. just new everything.

Somehow I believe our OEM shocks are from Tokico.
Anyway, if paired with stock springs, I personally wouldn't hesistate with Tokico or KYB shocks. Edit: just looked at my OEM nismo shocks, made by Tokico.

Somebody do a review on these. the cost is in the $300 range and not coils. https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspen...t-p-12473.html

These Excel-G's do not give better performance against equal condition OEM shocks. Don't get your hopes up.

Bilstein and Koni are good choices for struts and shocks. Tokico struts and shocks unless they are adjustable are set on firm which is great for drag strip and track use. For street use the Tokico struts and shock are a bit firmer then the OEM Nissan struts and shocks as the valving in them is different. I had the Tokico spec d struts and shocks on my last 370Z and really liked them overall. I really don’t want coilovers. I honestly don’t expect my struts and shocks to last longer with lowering springs but,a great quality set of struts and shocks will help though. I want to hear other people’s views on struts and shock? You can’t go wrong with Bilstein or Koni struts and shocks from what I have hear from other 370Z owners they have reported to like them. I will not get KYB struts and shocks as I had a set of KYB struts and shocks on my old 350Z they weared out at really low mileage and the drivers side strut failed and KYB refused to warranty them at all they will never get my business again. What brands of struts and shocks does everyone here like?

The shocks on the Nismo are made by Tokico, and are far better than the factory sport shocks. From that point on it all depends on how much you are willing to spend and play with.

for some reason i cant find tokico shocks/struts for a 370 which is odd if they're oem on the nismo lol
Z1 has Koni's for $1100 a set.at that price might as well get coilovers lol

Those Konis are a LOT better than $1100 coilovers.
