No Powersteering when she warms up?
Hi everyone - I have searched the forums and the web. I have an odd issue.
I was putting on new tires and wanted to experience doing a donut. Yup, never done one before in any car. Found a wide open parking lot at an abandoned factory. Did two sets of about 8 donuts about 15 minutes apart. Noticed some steam coming from the engine compartment afterwards. Should have used the rag and zip tie trick cause it was the powersteering fluid. Drove home fine. Checked the fluid and it was still between the lines, no noticeable boiling. Next day, go to work about 45 mins away. About 10 mins from work while turning right I noticed the wheel was tough to turn. No powersteering. Finished work and drove home. No issue until I was about to pull into the garage. Checked the fluids again. No obvious issues with levels or boiling. Took her to Nissan. The techs rack and pinion was good to go. He thought the issue was the electronic controller 1EA0C (Nismo). The part is on national backorder - bought one from a forum member, swapped it out. Still the same. I did a partial flush. Checked - still nothing. Jacked the car up and did a full flush. Still nothing. Could it be the p/s pump going bad? Does anyone have any other ideas???

I don't recall specifically but i probably kept the steering in the danger zone for 20 seconds if that answers the question

So I believe my ps motor is fried. It's tricky because when the car is cold, it works fine. I drove 45 mins today and when I stopped, the ps fluid still at low/cold and not cycling.
