- I wore through another set of OEM pads and thought i'd give these guys a try.

They are about 90% of the OEM pad's capability. Pedal feel is slightly spongy and it takes a lil bit before full braking force is realized.

Summary:
It IS a good pad for someone looking for an OEM replacement.
It is NOT good for those who are looking for more performance out of the stock braking system.

Did you bleed the brakes?

Regular or sport (quad piston) calipers?

I bleed brakes regularly, and Sport calipers.

Also, side-note...

Be VERY careful when bedding the pads in. I lost brakes stopping from too high of a speed. Overheated the pads.

I'm curious, did you replace the rotors too? If not, did you resurface the old rotors?

UGG, those pads aren't worth a crap then if you overheated them that easy.

So what pads are you recommending for people who never track, but want an improvement over oem pads?

The Nismo pads are a nice improvement over OEM but I also installed them along with new rotors, braided lines, fluid and the master cylinder brace.

Less initial bite, especially when cold but FAR more modularity. They're extremely sensitive to brake pressure without being grabby and do offer more overall braking power. I often found the stock pads to lack outright power, especially when it's hot out and they performed better in winter. The Nismo pads will squeak if you drag the brakes at low speed or if you just washed the car. Otherwise they don't make any noise. Look around as you can get them for a very good price. They're made by Ferodo for Nissan.

I'd like to try the Carbotech 1521 or even the new Akebono performance pads just for ***** and giggles.

If you don't mind a little dust. The EBC Yellowstuff is a good pad. You can DD and do entry level trackdays with them.

I second this. Installed a set just before ZDayZ and they did a great job on the Dragon.
