Z1 Brake Master Cylinder Brace - Install Help

I'm struggling to get this brace to fit. Of the three bolts (that go where the plastic plugs were removed) I can get the outside two to thread in but then the middle pre-drilled hole is not even close to being lined up. I've tried putting the middle in first, but then it's impossible to thread in the bolt nearest to the fender. The bolts and threaded holes in the chassis are all fine and not stripped - it seems the middle pre-drilled hole is about 1/8" off.

Has anyone else struggled with this part? Could it be a manufacturing error? I'm hoping to hear back from Z1 about this soon, but thought I'd ask the forum to see what everyone else's experience has been and if anyone has a helpful tip or two. Thanks.

Ive heard difficulties before... call Z1... they should know install issues.

I struggled with this, put the other two on and tightened it down well... that little damn part was a pain for me to install. Had to get two stubby 19mm wrenches for adjusting the actual brace to the cylinder as well.

I talked to Z1 about this. Basic message was "Yeah that happens. Seems to be variation in the bodies from year to year."

I have mine in with only two bolts but I plan to remove it and slot the middle hole to make it fit eventually.

I thought about this but then the bolts wouldn't set into the recessed areas of the brace - they'd overlap and the heads wouldnt have equal pressure applied. I know the part doesn't take much lateral load if at all, but still, poor design of you ask me. It's seems all three holes need to be machined more thoughtfully to allow for extra play/positioning while installing.

Mine was the same. Outer two are just fine but the middle wasn't spot on. I was able to screw it in but it wasn't pretty.

I would agree. If it were mine to build from scratch I would leave the center hold as is and slot the outer holes to allow for variation of the body position. Then again I didn't take the time to draw the complex shape to get up to the brake master so I am not gonna fault the designer completely.

Mine needs 1.5mm machined off the side of the hole to allow for the bolt to line up. Would take 10 minutes to do on a manual CNC mill but I'm too lazy to take it back off, bring it to work, then reinstall for now.

Z1 did get back to me with the same explanation as mentioned earlier... Variation in Nissan production. They said they've only had a handful of reports of fitment issues, but the engineers may revisit the design shortly to improve it further.

In the meantime, they said that just using the outer two bolts is acceptable without risk of failure. This is how I'll leave it too.

Anyone know how to remove the 4 plastic clips? I'm having trouble understanding how to remove them since it looks like round pop in clip. did you guys just use the end of the screw driver to pry them off?

Mine were just stickers. They peeled off with a screwdriver.
