Having blown through a set of yellows in 9K, I have a bad taste in my mouth with EBC. And I'm not the only one I know of that's had very poor life and performance out of EBC pads.

I think that is more about braking style than the brakes. I have heard the same story about carbotech brakes as well. I'm on the extreme other side of the spectrum as I'm really easy on my brakes. My carbotechs have better than half the pad left and they are year old with a handful of track days on them.

The set of Carbotechs I had right after them lasted 31k miles lol. It wasn't my driving style.

Oh I totally understand what you mean by that. I just had a very different experience with EBC than many others did. I just took the Endless ME20's I had off because the rears had gotten down to the rivets. I put Project Mu HC+ pads on in their place, with the expectation that they won't be as good. But I didn't have $500 and a month to wait for more Endless pads sadly.

WOW, I just checked my CarboTech XP8's expecting them to be done. I have over 60K miles on those pads and still have over 3/4 of pad life left. You must be hard on brakes.

Hahah yeah over 60k and over 3/4 left is pretty amazing . Btw the yellows probably was a bad batch maybe? And I chose not to go the yellow route cause I do know they don't have a good initial bite. Only when you have a nice heat to them. And using them constantly when hot will probably wear them a lot faster. What pads are you using now?

I have ebc yellow stuff pads and I don't like them with z1 slotted rotors, stainless lines, and motul rbf600 fluid. When cold they don't do much but once I get some heat in them, they still feel numb. They don't have they bite you would hope for in a pad as aggressive as they claim to be. I've also overheated them on the track before at Englishtown by the end of a 15 minute heat. The only thing they are good for is they are decently quiet after a few stops and don't overheat during autocross.

I ended up ordering xp8's all around with z1 slotted rotors, stainless lines, and rbf600

Good choice. I've run the XP10/8 combo before. I liked them. You have to embrace the noise they make though. It's a fun game to see how loud of a stop you can come to

You need to be prepared for one thing. On a rainy day if you drive a good distance on the interstate you will need to tap your brakes from time to time to keep the heat in them. The first time you have a panic stop on cold XP8's you will remember this warning.

I ran 2 seasons of trackdays with one set of Yellowstuff pads. They're great pad for someone starting out doing trackdays. But once you get some wheel time. Then you need to start looking at some others. Using the 10/8 combo for track now. I have the Yellowstuff pads on my Jeep Grand Cherokee, and on my Power Wagon, which used to tow a 10,000lbs camper.

Something else to think about. Some pad and rotor combo's don't work well together.
