Sport brake disc warp?
Hi all,I have a 2010 roadster with the sport brake package,(it's supplied standard here in NZ)
The brakes are superb in all everyday settings, however I have had them really hot after some very hard usage, lots of twisty roads here,no fade, but a wobble on the pedal until they cool very slightly, then they are back to normal again. Anyone else experience this.? |
"Warped" is an overused term. Considering that they are 30 pounds and made out of cast iron, the possibility of them warping is slim.
What feels like warping is actually pad deposits. Spray some brake cleaner on them and go out and use a "bedding in" process. You could also take sand paper to them, or as a last attempt, you could have them turned. |
As per TreeSemdyZee, rotors are seldom actually warped. But it's not impossible; if you still have wobble after bedding, check for warping (pretty easy to DIY).
If the deposits on the rotors is bad enough that they have to be turned, you need to alter your braking habits or get pads/rotors that are more appropriate for the way you drive. |
Me!! I heard that it is the horrible brake pads Nissan supplied. I hear that changing the brake pads will fix the problem but I changed both just to be safe

Thanks all,makes sense re deposits
