Brake pad grease
 

Hey guys! Got a bit of a squeak when my brakes are hot from traffic. I'll be greasing in a couple hours.. Can someone post some pictures of where the pads need to be greased? Just the front metal portion around the pad? Back of the pad? Etc. any help would be great!

Basically the four corners and a little under the shim plate were the piston contacts the pad.

I used permatex grease from Oreillys, but the OEM grease looked much heavier and more durable than the permatex stuff I bought.

Wish I had some of the OE stuff, but the aftermarket grease is working fine.

Mine squealed because the rotors were loaded up. I turned them lightly and the noise is gone. I reused the original pads on the front.

Here's one DIY I did.

Post 14 shows the grease on the pads. I give it a thin coat between every piece from the steel brake backing to the caliper piston. My brakes don't squeek and I run XP8 pads.

The single largest metal surface that makes contact to the pad is the rotor... so be sure to apply plenty of grease to it as well.;)

u folks taking about brake quiet?

Make sure you apply the brake grease to the back of the pad where the pistons come into contact with the pad. Also apply the grease to the side of the backing plate of the pad. The sides can get bound up just a **** hair to cause a squeaking noise when braking. I also clean the pins, inside the calipers and piston before putting everything back together.

Grease the whole backing plate, also greased the front corners. Brakes and components squeaky clean nothing left behind. Greased pins too. All is good! Thanks every one!
