Need the comforting words of my forum brothers...

So I started my suspension swap tonight. Was feeling pretty good about getting under the car for the first time in weeks.

Take it all apart. Pull the coilover out and instantly noticed this.

I was thinking I got off easy with just some damage to the inner fender. Rest of the suspension bits have been replaced. I didn't spot this as I was ripping stuff out but it was damn sure obvious.

Anyway, I have a couple of emails out to see if I can just get this lower section but don't expect responses til Monday. Anyone know if this part is readily available from stance or am I looking at all new set of coilovers?

At least it held together & didn't snap off.
Glad you're ok (physically)

Grand scheme of things I feel pretty blessed. Car coulda taken a lot more damage and I walked away unscathed.

Just hoping it isn't going to mean a new set of coilovers, hate to pay for 4.

So talked to the guys over at concept Z. (Can't say enough good things about my experience with them). They were able to source the part. Even better news it is very reasonably priced.

Hats off to Stance and Concept Z

Is that a Stance lower by any chance?

Yea it sure is.

How old? They had a rash of issues where the lower mounting eyelets were having issues and the rubber bushings were failing. There was a big, vitriol-filled thread on another car form (RX8). There was much hate in that thread.

Edit: I just realized you had some sort of (guessing) off road excursion. Guess that's perfectly acceptable under the circumstances. Sucks but expected.

Bought them about 9-10 months ago. This damage was definitely caused during my off road adventure. Took a major jolt on that corner.

So far the quality of the coilovers appears to be top notch.
