BC Coilovers Question
Hey so im starting to get really frustrated with my coilovers (BC BR). They arent anything special just ordered as they come (Mistake).I have found that i cant get high enough in the rear even when they are adjusted all the way up, it sits way too low and as soon as i start moving its dips down even further. (Am i doing something wrong?) Because the rear is where it is the front is slammed to prevent getting a reverse raked look (front up rear down) which causes the car to feel like **** and would look terrible. Ive done some research and found that the BC stock spring rates are 10k Front 8k Rear. Stocks are 7.5k front and 8.1k rear. In discovering this i realize thats part of my problem already, softer than stock springs in the rear. My question is if i get 10k rear springs that are maybe slightly longer will that through off the geometry in a negative way or would that completely fix my problem? Background info, 370z base with just the bc's no other suspension mods. They have maybe around 10-15k miles on them. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Do you have the rear springs installed correctly? I had BCs on my G35 with the extreme drop and could still have it to within a 1/2inch of stock height.

I think, for better reference, could you take a picture and measurements on just how low it is now?
Side note: are the BC ER rears the "true type" (coil spring over the shock, instead of separate like OEM)? If "true type", you can't compare spring rate directly. And 0.1 kg/mm difference isn't going to cause dramatic difference in height anyway. |

The rear springs have a perch ring adjustment to compress the spring and push your rear upwards. You need to adjust both the spring perch and the strut adjustment to lift or lower the car in the rear. Since yours is not a true type of coils.

You need to preload the spring watch the video. Hope this helps.

I installed BC coil overs on my car. Maybe this will help?

Hmm looks like I need to add a little preload to my rear on my powertrix. Been feeling good but just a slight bit of noise over speed bumps. I just threaded the shock bodies up until all spring play was gone but didn't actually preload it and I too am a bit lower than I had anticipated for how high I set the collars (also not exactly even side to side). Going to do one more final adjustment Sunday before track event on Monday. Going to be a little harder to measure my exact spring compression since it still uses the oem seat but I'll get it close.

simple question so you can adjust the front without having too touch the preload again, but the back anytime you make an adjustment the preload has too be adjusted again?
