lol I know the manager and he knows I check my mileage when I leave it ...so when they done they call me to test drive it with them in the car. I do hope this fixes it as well..I hate sounds that I can't locate and fix myself.

.....changed wheel bearing/hub assembly .....still no improvement ...not sure what it could be ..mechanic says it's more than likely coming from the solid motor mount on the passenger side ....even though he couldn't verify it I guese I'll have to keep looking

You sure it's not the rear axles? Probably need lube if it is.

They did the rear axel lube and all tsb on it .... I hate sounds I can't locate lol

I can also make the sound rolling backwards with engine off ... and when I apply the brake it will click ... no sound until I apply the brake ... and going forward it will click if accelerating moderately ... seems to be the movement either the front coming up or the back going down .. not really forward or backward .. and not really " brake" related ... but braking and making the front dip quickly will make the noise any any speed.

Will the sound occur if the car is on ramps and you bounce the front end by hand? If so, have someone bounce the front while you listen from underneath.

I've had plenty of funny noises that freak me out and every time so far it's been something loose in the passenger compartment. Not something from the car, just something I've left in moving around while I corner/accelerate/brake. Like a water bottle, loose change or something that's come out of my gym bag. Sometimes after I have a passenger, the seat belt does not go back perfectly and you hear the buckle bang on the plastic. That one freaked me out for a couple days before I figured where it was coming from.

No cant make the sound with it sitting still... on ramps or jack stands...
I'll try to get a video or sound clip with my go pro attached out side of the car

Not in the passenger compartment ... it sounds like the front passenger side ... .. can almost feel it through the floor board ... can't find any signs of anything wearing or hitting ... I'm wondering if it is the polyurethane bushing in the supercharger motor mount .... I wouldn't think so due to it making the sound rolling backward with the car engine off

Hey there. Have you guys by chance figured out the problem here? I read the thread and it sounds strikingly similar to what I am experiencing. Front clunk. Not at high speeds. Reverse to park or park to drive moderate speeds or from zero.

Had the rear driveshaft replaced already due to the clunk in the rear but now I'm taking into the dealer for the front end clunk.

Thanks!

I haven't been able to locate it yet ...I'm really feeling like it's coming from the brakes in some way ..I have noticed that rolling backwards down hill ..in neutral applying the brake will cause the sound to rolling back wards and applying the e-brake it does not .....and I have noticed that there is a little more wear on the rotor on the front passenger side compared to the driver side and that is the side the noise is from ......I'll see how it goes after brake change and turning rotors

You seemed to have checked everything on the suspension that would be the problem.

Only two things I can thing of:
1) Dirt/stones embedded in pad(s)
2) Dust shield coming in contact with rotor

OK, three thing:
3) Manufacturing defect in pad(s) or rotor. Eg, soft spots in rotor.

This sounds like a loose article, i.e. a small bolt or screw, inside a steel chamber. It only happens when certain level of acceleration and deceleration is achieved. There is a reason why the noise does not occur when the car is moved solely vertically.

UPDATE- I know this is a old thread ..but I did find the noise .. it was the rack and pinion ..loosen all the bolts and re-torqued them down and haven’t had the noise since.
