You talking about the seals inside the bore? Use brake fluid. Use your finger and smear the inside of the bore with brake fluid. Dunk your seals in brake fluid, then install in the bore. Then pop your pistons in.

ok. thanks. Rusty.
yes the rubber seal. i noticed the nissan kit comes with a red grease wasn't sure what that was. i got my kit from Z1 motorsports and i thought i was buying nissan parts but the kit they sell is not nissan and it did not come with the grease. i asked them about it and they said that they use petroleum jelly. just wanted to ask what you guys use. and is it petroleum jelly as in vaseline? lol |

Petroleum jelly and vaseline is the same thing. I don't like using stuff like that. Because some of it may not go well with some brake fluids.

I don't think you would want anything petroleum based as that is what cause the seals to swell (oil is petroleum based). Brake fluid is generally glycol based. There is special brake seal Lube that will mix with dot fluid if you want to use that other than brake fluid.
