Yup. I have no idea what it is. I didn't ask. Probably some secret Porsche mechanic remedy. I wish I could've had him do it again recently. They need it. Badly. |

I've had the same issues on mine...
A few instances it turned out to be rocks, dealer removed, things were fine... It makes the same sound as my pos wrx did at one point, I fixed that car by pushing the dust shields back a bit with just a small amount of force. This car makes the same stupid sounds, kind of a tiny pot metal like sound... Going to try new pads (ebc redstuff) + 2 piece rotors, and push the stupid dust shields back a bit. Fingers crossed. I'm still lost on the genius idea that the dust shields need to be so close to other moving surfaces. More of an annoyance than anything else. It's the only part of this car I don't understand why it was engineered to be a perpetual annoyance on purpose it seems. BTW: I've ran EBC redstuff on two other vehicles for daily driving, not sure why they're taboo on the nissan forums, but they've always been great on other cars I've owned, and I don't drive it like it's a prius. |

There is no hate for EBC on the forum, lots of folks run red or yellow stuff. I run red stuff when I'm not running Carbotech. I no problem with them making noise.

I have the Yellowstuff's on my '13 Grand Cherokee TrailHawk (my DD), and my '08 PowerWagon (which see LOTS of off-road). The Yellowstuff have been great pads on them. I run the Yellowstuffs on my Nismo when I'm not doing trackdays. I have used the Yellowstuffs for trackdays when I first started out. But when I got more seat time. I had to move to the 10/8 combo.

That said the akebono are typically one of the quieter pads. Your Porche is an example of true German sports brakes, the German tend to actually use quiet an aggressive pad OEM. Even AMG owners manuals had to put in their literature your sport brakes will make noise and that is normal, after all the repeat comebacks of their cars with noise complaints. |

Did you try lubricating the sides of the pads? The can get bound up on the inside of the caliper when braking and cause a squel. I see it at work on occasion.

Hey I have some brake squeaking on my G37S coupe, same brake set up as the Z sport. It makes this sound almost all the time. Always when it’s colder out. Sound will go away if I stomp harder on the brakes. It is super annoying. I have plenty of pad life left. I greased using Syl Glyde for the back of the pads and shims. And the green permatex stuff for the 4 corners of the pads and the 2 metal pins and a bit on the metal plates where the pins slide through. The sound went away for a month but then came back worse then ever. I re-greased again recently but it didn’t even help at all this time lol brakes squeaking all the time. Any recommendations?

I finally got rid of the noise by doing the following:
Front New Centric 125 High Carbon Rotors New Akebono ASP1346 Performance Pads (Yellow Box,NOT blue) Rear New Centric 120 Rotors New Centric Posi-Quiet Pads Pads were only 50% worn but I literally tried every lube and trick out there (inclu BG Stop Squeal) and the squeal always came back. Other Tips: Clean/wipe out all the old brake dust! I used CRC Synthetic Brake Grease on the back and corners of the pads. Don't use Akebono ProAct Pads.... crazy loud on sport brakes. |

I should mention that it ended up being both front and rear brakes squealing on me.
I'm sure Akebono Performance Yellow Pads would work great on the rears as well, but I didn't want to mess up a good thing. PS Brake Dust is amazing on the Akebono Pads |

Hey thank you for the tips! I will try cleaning everything again and using crc grease and see how it goes. I was hoping to not have to buy new brakes and rotors lol but I guess it may come to that if I can’t stop it
