Default Rust lines on Rotors? Pads not gripping entire rotor?

I just noticed this and have never noticed on any other car I've owned. It looks like the pads don't grip the entire rotor so the area where it doesn't grip is starting to get a rust line on it. The pic I attached is older, my car is at shop so sorry no better picture but it's pretty straight forward what I'm talking about..

Do you all have same issue? Do aftermarket pads have a bigger footprint and grip more of the rotor?

My new pads and slotted rotors do it. Haven't raced on them yet but did bed them. Idk

Wink

That inner ring is normal. A lot of vehicles will have both a inner and outer ring around them.

Yeah, that's normal. The only thing that bothered me when I had Akebonos on my 350Z was the rust, so I coated the hats with high temp paint.
