Thoughts on StopTech Brakes

Ik there are plenty threads on pads. My weekend warrior is 2010 sport touring. Looking at new pads. Thinking about possibly a track day but will be mostly be onthe road when I can get it out of the garage on the weekend. What do you guys think about the StopTech "Posi-Quiet" performance ceramic pads from thezstore over stock? Will also be doing the Motul RBF660 fluid.

Thanks in advance all!!

You don't need the 660, 600 will work fine and sucks less moisture in.
I don't think the Posi-Quiet will be good for a track day. They are listed as long lasting low dust pads.
I use Carbotech, XP8 all around or XP10 front and 8 Rear.

they are a great pad for daily street driving and keeping the wheels clean, but not suitable at all for track duty.

Rusty do you run your 10/8's on the street? Contrary to the belief here, i never got a pair to run yet on my car and was wondering what its like. Also ill be deleted the abs here this week with a proportional valve from wilwood so i can do 10/10, 12/12 etc if anyones interested in not having ice mode be an issue.

And damn Pitt raised their rates with the new track, saw that coming.

Yea, I run them on the street. Don't have too many street miles on them yet. When you first pull out. Be careful when they are cold. They take more pressure on the pedal. Once warmed up, they're good. They do make some noise. Like when you are almost to a stop, they'll squeal some. Think alot of it depends on the rotor material as to how much noise they make.

Seen that too. They also changed the format some. :icon14: Last year. All of the HPDE days was sold out weeks in advance. If you waited to the last minute, Forget it. You was put on a waiting list if someone cancelled.

Going to be at Pitt Race for One Lap of America this year. Never drove there and looking forward to it. I guess I should be studying the track as I only get 3 laps! haha

They added to it. The old North track, and the new South track which was finished about May of last year. Haven't had a chance to new the South track yet. Would love to run the combine track layout.

Facility Pittsburgh International Race Complex

When will you be there?

I recently swapped from MX72s to Stoptech Street Performance pads for my street pads, mainly as a money saving experiment. Quite happy with them, good bite, feel and heat tolerance. Feels/behaves like a mild track pad, very slight noise sometimes. Should be great for weekend warrior or new track day driver.

If you looks at the pads on Stoptech's site, I have a sneaky feeling the little spider charts might be misleadingly scaled making it impossible to actually directly compare two of them.

We get there May 1st at 8 am...probably gone by 4. On to Palmer then for the next day.

I've run a 10/8 combo on the street every day since last May, with about 25k miles on them. Im still on the same pads and rotors, and I have had no issues with stopping power ever. Even in sub 20 degree weather. They are pretty dusty, and can get quite noisy, but I won't be buying anything else besides some Endless ME20's if I decide to spend the extra money for them.
