What are you trying to do? Just replacing pads or rebuilding calipers?

Replacing rotors and pads. I have a compressor but it's for single piston calipers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For replacing pads with the calipers still on the car. I use the old pads and use a small pry bar to push the pistons in. With the calipers off the car. Old pads and a 4" C-clamp. With a 4 piston set-up. 2 C-clamps. One on each side.

They make the right tool for the right job...
Search for: Brake Caliper Compressor Can get one pretty cheap, and is better for your brake pistons than cramming an old pad against it. ![]()

I was going to get one like that. But then thought that I can change out the pads just as quick using my method. Still might pick one up just to have.

Take out one pad (not both), use two large flat screwdrivers as levers to push the piston in, slide in a new pad. Repeat for the opposite side of the rotor. Repeat for the other side of the car.
If you had to use a socket/wrench, you did it wrong ![]() |

Figure I'd ask this here since it's kinda related. Are the rear Akebonos single or dual piston?
