Default Fortune 500 vs Fortune 510

http://www.fortune-auto.com/500series.htm

http://www.fortune-auto.com/510series.htm

i dont track or autox

looking for a quality coilover to switch over to from my standard BC-BR coilovers.

main concern is ride comfort with performance and feel a close second

i dont mind paying for quality when it makes sense, would any GURU's chime in on the differences between these 2? Spring rate recommendations?

Just throwing this out there in your main concern is comfort and daily driving I'd strongly recommend the HKS hypermax GT4s. I love mine.

I have the 500 with Swift springs and the ride quality and performance has been very good, but ride preference is an individual thing. I like mine a little on the firm. Also if you call Fortune Auto they can help you with choosing a spring rate for you style of driving.

I hear great things about the hks coils too. I may just shoot for the kwv3 but if I can get great ride under $1500 I will do that

I currently have the Fortune Auto 500s on my GS430 (have had them for appx 3-4 years now) and still love them. I ended up purchasing Stance coils for my Z as I wanted a cup kit Fortune hadn't released their version but if they had, I would've gone with Fortune again. Definitely one of the best sets of coilovers I've owned.

What would be the improvements of Fortune 500 over BC-BR coils?

Fortune Auto only makes the 500 series coilovers for the 370Z. They currently do not make the 510s. But even if they did, the 510s are mainly for track oriented cars because of the nature of the aggressive shock. The 500s ride great for a street vehicle. I would suggest getting the Swift Spring upgrade though! Transforms the coilovers and will ride amazing on the street.

REPED! That's great. What about the non-daily driver that's on the track a bit and also on the road? I actually really like the "bump in every road" feel as it makes me feel attached to the road. Don't want to need spinal realignment but I do like that tight feel, especially coming out of turns. So 500s are exactly that or is there a step of from there but not quite Track only?

Yes the 500s are perfect for what you are looking for. They will feel more stiff and planted than the OEM suspension. If you like them a bit stiff, when upgrading to the Swift Springs you will need to bump up the spring rates at least 2k. Because the material Swift uses for their springs feel softer at the same rates of BC Racing and other manufacturer springs. I.E a 12k Swift Spring essentially feels like a 10k BC Racing spring as far as "stiffness" is concerned.

I have a lot of customer's with Fortune 500's and swift springs for different cars. Great for daily driving and you get the performance you need.

We highly recommend Fortune Auto. But if you are going for the 500 series with swift springs, I would save just a little more money and go with the HKS Hypermax for around $100 more.

Fortunes are built to order and take anywhere from 3-5 weeks. They do also offer custom spring rates. While the HKS are ready to go.

We carry both at the best price.

Thanks, for the information, but I have 500's installed for a couple of years. I got them at a good price as well, Black Friday specials you got to love them.

If you don't care for performance or track driving why bother with coilovers at all? You can get everything you want with just swift springs with the stock dampers. Better performance than stock, lower ride height, etc. No need to blow a bunch of cash for no reason.

What you really need to do is figure out exactly what you want from your car. It doesn't make sense for you to say "I mostly care about ride comfort" and then start comparing dual adjustable dampers and aggressive spring rates - it completely goes against your first statement. So figure out what you REALLY want and then maybe people can actually recommend a setup you'll enjoy.
