Honestly, for just street driving oem pads and blank rotors will be fine.

If that is all you need shoot me a PM, I have a set of oem rotors, about 20k on them nothing but DD on them and a set of brand new Posi Quiet brake pads. If you are in SoCal we can do a meet and greet make the exchange the next time I'm down that way, which should be around Thanksgiving.

What Chuck said.

Especially if you care about keeping your rims clean all the time.

What if I wanted a higher performance brake set up? Any recommendations?

Upgrade to ss brake lines and a good bake fluid and the rest is still what Chuck said.

What performance do you seek from your brakes?

What does "higher performance" mean to YOU?

Sorry for the late response. I am looking for a set up that will do well when I start tracking my car. Something that'll do well tracking and daily driving.

The pads that work well on track will not work well on the street and vice versa. You'll need two sets.

Important lesson: Any product that does "everything" does it poorly.
- All season tires, aren't really good at any particular season.

Same is true of brake pads. You "can" find a pad that will work for both. But for the love of all that is holy... swap out your OEM pads AND FLUID before going to the track.
- If you recall, Car and Drive put a 370z into the wall for it's bad brakes.

If you don't mine squeal, Carbotech XP10 pads will work fine on the street (with much better bite than the OEM Akebonos, in fact). For rotors, you could go with OEM, StopTech, or Z1. Make sure to use good brake fluid, Castrol SRF or at minimum, Motul RBF 600. If you're looking for a BBK, look no further than the AP Racing Radi-Cal kit.

I use Redstuff with Z1 lightweight 2 piece rotors. They are good street pads. I would definitely do as advised if your going track more than a couple of times a year XP10's are too aggressive for DD, XP8's would be better.

Sorry, but this was hilarious. Just get a another set of oem pads and blanks. When you actually start doing track days, start reading threads in the track section about what brakes different guys are running.

It's pretty easy to swap pads with the fixed caliper set-up. Its not uncommon to have one set for the track and another for dd use.

I started out tracking with the Yellowstuff pads. It's a good DD pad too. Since I got more time on the track. I'm using the XP10/XP8 set-up with Racing Brake brake rotors.
