Lowering Springs Setup Question

Hey all,

I've browsed through the forums and tried to find the answer to some of my questions but to no avail, I will ask for help. I plan on getting the ARK GT series lowering springs (haven't decided which one) and new rims. My questions are:

Will I absolutely NEED a front and rear camber kit or just the rear kit?

Will the stock sport tires (275/35) fit safely onto an 11in wide wheel? The stretched look is not as much of a problem as is the safety concern.

Will I have need further modification to fit 19x11 +15 wheels on the rear with this setup?

Maybe...

Maybe to all 3?

Should you get camber kits? If I went with the GT-F springs, no. For the GT-S, I probably would just to save my tires. Either way, you don't absolutely need them.

I've seen worse, but I wouldn't do it. That's too much of a stretch for me.

I have 19x11 +15 with 305/30 tires in the rear and I could probably go a few millimeters out. No modifications necessary.

May I ask if you're lowered on any type of suspension setup? If so, what's the setup.

You don't necessary need camber kits if you don't mind running increased negative cambers and wearing down your tires sooner. Your car will run fine without it long as you get an alignment after the springs are settled. The camber kits are to help your alignment guy dial your alignments back to oe specs and saving your tires longer.

You can stretch 275s over an 11 inch rim. Not recommended but it's doable.

All depending on your goal for the car. If you're going to drive hard, pick up a set of rear camber kits and wider tires.

I ran the OEM wheels and tires with Swift springs without camber kits, and after 10K miles, there were no signs of alarmingly uneven tread wear. I switched to aftermarket wheels (19x9.5 +20 and 19x11 +15) and tires (265/35 and 305/30) a few weeks ago (pic on my sig) and will lower the Z a little more with Ark GT-S springs later in the month. Even then, I'm still not sure whether to invest on camber kits. As you can see the wheels aren't exactly sunk in, but I can fit at least 5mm spacers in the rear once the GT-S springs are installed. My goal is to achieve the best compromise between camber and flushness while remaining functional.

Is the picture of your car with swifts? And just to be clear, you have neither the front or rear suspension on aftermarket camber kits?

That's right, I have neither front or rear camber kits. And yes, my car in the picture, including my sig, are on Swift springs. Here's another picture of my Z on Swift springs to illustrate how unnecessary, in my opinion of course, camber kits are when just slightly dropped.

For what it's worth, the Ark GT-F and Swift Spec-R springs have identical drops of 1.2" front and 1.0" rear. The GT-S drops the Z a little more at 1.4" front and 1.2" rear. Again, whether you use camber kits with your Ark springs or not is entirely up to you.
