Brake light flashing at high speed
 

So this problem of mine hasn't been going on too long (maybe about 3-4 months) but now when ever I given it hard throttle my brake light comes on like I have my e-brake on. It's done it in the first 4 gears but it mainly does it in 3rd at WOT. I tried to take a video the other day to show what it's doing but I couldn't get it to do it but only once.

At first I thought it could be my brake fluid being low and every time I gas it, it was sloshing the fluid back and triggering the light. Not the case, plenty of fluid.
So my next theory was, maybe my E-brake is really loose and the force is causing the handle to push on the sensor for the e-brake light to come on. Not the case, because when this happens just the brake light comes on on the dash. When I barely pull the e-brake to trigger the sensor, the brake light comes on but it also pops up on the info screen "parking break on, release ". I'll post the video sometime today so yall can see. But any idea what this might be?

Mine did the same thing.You just about got to fill the reservoir to the top to keep it from happening.

Well mines not topped off but it's practically full. Maybe I'll try filling it to the rim and see if that helps

my brake fluid level is a few mm below the MAX line. no issue to report.

I had this same issue when i got the car. Had the stealership flush and refill it. All good after.

Same thing was happening to me. Topped off with fluid and no more light.

Had similar happen with the emergency brake and traction light coming on as well. Is it possible for brake fluid to evaporate/burn away? I had break flushed a couple of months ago so it's new and was topped off, now it's midway.

While it is not uncommon to boil brake fluid on the track it's not very likely to happen with a DD (if you are boiling the brake fluid in a DD, maybe you need to re-evaluate your driving habits). My guess is that there was either some air trapped in the lines that has worked its way out or you have a leak. Refill reservoir and check often. If it starts dropping, check for leaks.

yah, check the brake bleed valves for leaks. maybe one of them weren't closed all the way. on the akebono's there are 2 per caliper just in case one dont know.

When your brake pads wear. The thickness of them gets thinner. Moving the pistons out out of the caliper move. That's where your brake fluid is going to. :eek:
