Stance SS+ spring rates
Hey guys, currently deciding between HKS Hipermax IV and Stance SS coilovers for the Z. Has anyone had either and which would you recommend and why? Both are around the same price range.
Car is not going to be tracked. I am mainly looking for an extremely low drop but still good response with aggressive street use. I've read HKS doesn't go that low, not too sure about that though. Don't have any info on how low Stance SS can go. I've been hearing and reading BC's are hit or miss, some people have had excellent ones with no problems and some have had clunking noises so trying to avoid those. Appreciate the positive feedback in advance, thanks! |
Just spend 5min on the phone with Scott at stance, nuff said.

Can't go wrong with Stance, especially for the price.

Stance only does true types.

Must be old because I cannot get it to pop up on anything stance, just other web sites all with true type pics. I've talked to Scott a lot there, they're not fans of OEM type.

I had HKS III on my 350Z that were comfortable on the street (not as soft as stock), but were quite good on track. I have IV's on my Mazdaspeed3 and they are stiff for street and decent on track. IV's for the Z will be different.
Quality is good and I had no issues on the Z in 5 years and several hundred hours of track time. I don't think they will slam the car. |
Bringing this back up from the dead here but is it better to have a higher spring rate for going lower? I've decided on getting the Stance SS+ and was wondering if anyone has any input as to if I should get higher spring rates since I will be slamming the car. Stance SS+ comes with 13k f and 6k r

That's pretty stiff, I'd go 10 and 4.5-5k

Is the car just a street car? What it will be used for will make a way bigger impact than how low it is. PM me if you have some specific questions. I would be more than happy to help!
