How did it change the handling at the limits on poor roads?

My concern is that on lowered cars, you usually give up compliance/suspension travel, resulting in excessive under or over-steer depending at the limits if the suspension becomes unsettled (hit gravel/pebbles/expansion joints mid corner).

Stock, for me atleast, the car is predictable and manageable at the limits on public roads.... but I'm not in love with the ride height either.

Experts and OP please chime in!

Would this setup not compromise performance in any way?

Would it be an improvement not just looks wise, but performance wise vs. stock?

I did not consider the stock springs compliant at all, especially on less than great roads. I hated them. I was so underwhelmed I half thought about unloading my Z. I was hesitant to lower my car because, "How could lowering it be any better?" It just had to be worse, right?
No chance. The Swifts are waaay better than the stockers. I drive the car a little bit more carefully now, but it's not really all that much different than at stock height. I never drag anywhere. I added spacers last weekend and I think the ride is just so superior to stock. It wouldn't have cost Nissan much to drop it a bit, change the spring rate and put it on subsequent model years.
You wouldn't be putting up this post if they had.
A zillion Swift owners can't all be wrong.

Much happier since installing Swifts a couple of weekends ago. Z rides much, much better and handles great. Takes bumps of all sizes very well. No complaints whatsoever!

Truly appreciate the honest response!

My mistake with my last vehicle was cheap coilovers, that no matter how many hours I spent trying to get them dialed in, it seemed like it was impossible to find an appropriate balance.

I'm in agreement that the Z seems unnecessarily rough at lower speeds just as a daily driver going to/from work/around down.

Sounds like this is a no brainer improvement, with no compromises other than a slight loss of ground clearance, which I'm not worried about as it's not an off road rally car!

Low speeds around town over poorly done road patching was exactly where the stock ride annoyed me the most. The Swifts don't feel any stiffer at low speeds because they remove most of the jouncy, 'out of compliant' response. They aren't perfect but so much improved that I'm not constantly bitching anymore.

yup, improved handling and performance. with spl rear camber arms and toe bolts + wheel alignment, car felt even tighter, i was going in and out of lanes with no problem and high speed conering improved. height is perfect. i have motordyne and that ever scrapes. nothing scrapes besides the plastic chin thingy rarely. I'm happy over roll. swifts are perfect.
