Default ball joint on SPC control arm

The ball joint on my SPC control arm (right) is bad (and might be the cause of my suspension noises). I was going to just replace the ball joint, but should I just replace the entire control arm? Comes in a set only (left and right). How common is it for these ball joints to go bad? The cost of the ball joint alone is $150. For both control arms, it's about $350.

$350 is halfway to a brand new set of SPL control arms...

SPC said that it's very rare for them to go bad, but if they do, it's under warranty. They sent me new ball joints and I'll send the old ones back. I just installed them yesterday and all went well. One of the old ones was definitely bad. But with the new ones installed, the noises are still there (which I kind of knew ahead of time already). It sounds like it's somewhere in the lower control arm/ spindle/ sway bar end links area.

Lot of things can cause those noises. I just changed my rear springs and rear buckets were full of stones. If you have racing springs-they are noisy and sometimes twist.
