Once the area is clean, carefully affix the new emblem and strap down both "sides" of the emblem securely with blue heat-resistant painter's tape. You do this because the back of the emblem is flat, whereas the area on your hood where you're attaching the badge is slightly convex. Then cover the whole badge with tape and hit it in short bursts with the heat gun on LOW.

Leave the tape on the car for 2-3 days, then remove.

Voila, permanent emblems.
I wonder how these would work on an aftermarket body kit since they do not have the emblem indentation of the stock front and rear. Would the emblems "sit up" a bit, showing the tape or will they sit flat?
