Does the light only have one brightness so it cannot be a brake light?

Unfortunately, the bulb is only a single element and with one brightness. Some have experiemented by installing dual element bulbs and harnesses to make the light have an OFF/DIM/BRIGHT feature.

This light was not originally intended to be a "Brake Light", so out of the box you will only be able to use the light as ON/OFF only.

John, Which wire harness for reverse light if capable. My only need is to see it on in reverse. Just use the wire plug in rear bumper? please advise.

If I wanted to make it a "brake light" what type of bulb and wiring would I need to make this fog light work like that?

The standard light that comes with the JDM Reverse Fog Light will work perfect as a brake light. It is extremely bright already.

You will need the Z1 Motorsports JDM Reverse Light (Long Harness) in order to operate the light in conjunction with the brake light.
