How do I order?

The the trunk light is too small to fit the upgraded JD-lighting, but i assure you the front two will be bright enough to light apart of the trunk.

To order: you can do it over the phone or PM your paypal email and i'll send you a payment request.

ProfessorDave 10-24-2010 10:13 AM

PM sent, with another one on the way to clarify the package I'm interested in!

Just wanted to put some feedback about third gears performance led kit. I have nothing bad to say at all, very professional with great customer service! The product itself is grade A quality. Will be doing a little write up with pictures. 100% would recommend this to anybody interested in the kit and hoping to business with them again.

PM or Call me when you ready!

ProfessorDave 11-02-2010 06:30 PM

I installed the map lights and license plate lights last weekend. Easy to install, and they look great! I'll post some pics soon.

What really impressed me was the level of customer service. There was a defect in the adapter for the trunk light. Even though it was the weekend, Jon responded to my PM and even gave me his cell # to describe the problem. I was really impressed by that - he responded as if it were an expensive and essential engine part! I will be doing more business with Third Gear Performance in the future.

Pics of the package

Here are some pics of the interior LEDs (map lights and trunk) and license plate lights. Sorry about the quality...I could not get the flash to turn off, and had to hold my finger over the flash. If you look closely at the interior light of the cockpit, you can also see the nice PW JDM shift knob I bought from third gear performance:

The interior light is brighter than stock, and has a HID like blue tint to it. It is a huge improvement both in terms of usable lighting and appearance. The trunk light is much brighter. The plate light does not have any yellow to it (pay no attention to how it looks in the photo).

Easy to install, too!

PM best price for stage 2 non-upgraded kit to 94502 please. What is the warranty policy?

Lemers 12-02-2010 03:01 PM

Haven't played with LEDs before. Are these plug and play? Do I have to mod anything like cutting and saudering wires?

Jon is right - plug and play. I happened to put most in bacwards the first time (they are polarity specific) :icon17: I also burned my finger on the stock map light trying to remove it (damn that thing heats up quick!) so shut yours off before you grab it:tup:. The plate bulbs took the longest (5 min). I love the way they look, especially the interior lights!

Nismo221 12-05-2010 02:46 PM

Installed mine a few days go. Very bright. I put a few in backwards the first time. So if you plug them in and nothing happens, first check and make sure the metal is making contact. If still they dont come on, just flip them around. Ill try to post pics of the install when I get home from work. "I have never post pics in a comment before" But maybe I can figure it out.

CharBoiler 12-06-2010 04:52 PM

Does anyone know how hot the upgraded map and trunk lights get? Also, could I get price on Stage 2 upgrade?

The map light does not get as hot as the stock light. And i dont think the stock or LED trunk lights get hot at all.

ProfessorDave 12-06-2010 07:15 PM

The LEDs are warm at best. Way less power to run them, too.

Pics of my LED install!

wilsonp 12-07-2010 04:34 PM

Those are a little blurry :)

BTW, did you use the double-sided foam to hold the Map lights in place? I figured that part out eventually, but it the wiring really didn't route well.

With the LED touching the diffuser, it didn't spread the light as well and created a blinding hot sport. With it back a little due to the tape, it diffused the hot spot some better, but I was tempted to put some rubber feet on it so it would be elevated from the diffuser all the time. Or put in a orange/red filter :)

Just ordered some cheap gel filters to try :)

tjlazer 12-07-2010 05:34 PM

pm me price shipped for map lights!

Yeah sry about the burry pics, I was in a hurry. But yeah I did use the double sided foam to hold them. And yes the wire you is alittle long. So you just have to bend it around, just what ever works out the best.

ThirdGearPerformance 12-08-2010 12:39 PM

Thanks for the input guys. I'll see what i can do on the next batch to make the wires a little shorter.
