Selling Fast Intentions Resonated test pipes.

Hi All

I have recently received the fast intentions Resonated test pipes (replacement for stock cat) as part of the exhaust system I ordered.

The test pipes combined with the Cat back Exhaust is a little tooo loud for my taste and I am going to be ordering the Fast intentions High Flow Cats.

This will mean I am able to sell the test pipes to an interested party in Australia.

The test pipes will give you a HP gain as well as make the car sound a lot tougher.

Anyone interested PM me and I will go check how much they are worth and we can work out a price. I paid $355 USD + Postage.

James

If I were you, I'd give the FI catback some time till I get used to it. Trust me, you'll then want the test pipe installed ;)

Yeah you need time to get used to them, but if it is still loud, then I'd say that getting rid of the test pipes for the high flow cats should decrease sound level... BUT.... they will still be loud...

I put my stillen CBE in and the berk hfc's (using a temp gasket because the proper ones weren't in the box) and this is still loud lol I'm getting used to it but it definately is not like just a standard cat back exhaust. Now from what i heard and read about the exhausts, the FI cat back is actually louder than the stillen, so if mine is loud with cats then I'm sure yours will be a bit louder on top. Do you know anyone who has the cats installed? or did u all get test pipes. Would be good to hear it first...

Videos on youtube etc are of no help in my experience...

I couldn't agree more Sam. At first i was like Holy Cow this is loud. But now have really settled in to enjoying the sound. The only time it annoys me if anything is on a long constant incline on the HWY.

Otherwise i am loving it. Also is it possible that James having the 7AT could be a contributing factor. I'm mainly thinking due to the gear ratios, possibly keeping it in a different Rev range to the 6MT.

As above, also need a bit of time for it to burn in, which no doubt James has done by now.

Would so love to see some DB readings on these exhausts thats for sure, i mean across the board that is. The other thing about HFC's is that they will give a different Note as well (correct me if I'm wrong).

Agreed on the YouTube videos also. Sam's vids tipped me over to the Resonated Test pipes and they are no where near as loud compared to real life.

I would say IMHO if you want some videos to get a good idea of what the RTP's will sound like have a look at my YOUTUBE videos i added few days ago. They will give you a good idea of what to expect with the RTP's along with full CBE. The main ones would be "Driving Around", "Mountain Run" for inside volume and "Drive By's", "Launch" for external volume. Also if possible listen to it with some OK speakers atleast and the HQ versions.

BTW Good luck James.

Yeah I agree it takes time to get used to.... the first night I was in a state of depression over the noise and almost (almost) didn't wanna drive it... but after a few days I began liking it... however, it is still a little loud for my liking, and at 70kmh it drones on an incline. On the freeway at 100, there is absolutely no noise coming from it.

The cold starts.... geeees they are bloody loud. I'm just trying to imagine having to start the thing at 2am after leaving someones house, it'll wake the entire neighbourhood up lol.

In all honesty though the sound is great, everyone loves the it, I even had a random telling me how awesome it sounded when we were stopped at the lights. The test pipes would give it that bit more racecar sound which would be nice too.

I'd say leave them for a bit to get used to them, but in the end of the day, what some people like others dont. These parts are in demand in Australia so you wont have issues selling them, just try to enjoy them and see how it goes.

Hey Sam. He has had them installed. Three of us got them done and ordered all at the same time. As others have said, each to their own. Just in my circumstances, they arnt't TOO loud (almost though).

Adding headers would be NUTS though:tup:

Oh I didn't know that

I'm not sure headers would make the setup THAT much louder, I would love to hear how they'd sound though!
