I haven't done my 10,000 km service, but I was told when I booked my last service that most of them cost the same. Our big service is 100,000 km and that one costs about $500.

Its a lot of $ for what they actually do. Two of these a year and its >$10 a week cash drip feed for the dealer.
Nissan Ryde Sydney want around $350 for it. Why do NSW/Sydney ppl always seem to get ripped off compared to other states. Gotta do something about that "sucka" look written all over my face. lol. I drive a lot under harsh conditions as per pp M72 of the Customer Information Booklet, - thats my story and I'm sticking to it - at least they then have to check more things, replace a few more filters and lubricate hinges etc. I could teach my grandma to do this AND I'd get milk and cookies thrown in! pics from ther main. manual are a little blurry, but I've had a few beers and everything looks a little blurry at the moment... Funny you should say that, I have a friend in Sydney and we talk about this all the time. House prices, Food and everthing else is more expensive than here in Melbourne. We worked out that it's because wages are higher.

I heard that Melbourne is the fastest growing city in Oz again for 2009? Going by the morning traffic, I'd have to agree as there just seems to be more and more cars on the road. An average 3bed house in my street sold for 940k last weekend. Mental. Sorry to run off topic

my wife just got her 07 Murano 40000km service and it costed her over 500 at brighton Nissan. Doubt i will bring my 370z there as i dont think it will be under $350 for 10000km service.

A mate had a Nissan navara serviced at Brighton and it came back with a deep scratch to bare metal allong the door. It was a black car so it stood out easily. He mentioned it at the pickup and they denied all responsibility. He had to escalate it to the manager of the whole dealer to get it resolved and repaired. Nightmare.

Thats woeful, nobody expects life to be perfect, accidents do occur, but to deny it is very poor form. Shame on them.
I'm happy to say that there are some good guys out there and when you find them you stick to them like glue. Its true for all business - you want repeat business? then act honourably and cop it on the chin when you have to. suck it in. All the years I had my old Mazda RX7 serviced, maintained, tweaked, by Ric Shaw Rotary, I have nothing but praise for Ric's integrity and professionalism. Talking about scratches, once, they called me while my car was in for some work about a deep scratch they spotted on the front left fender that seemed to match up with the green colour of a workshop feature and they went out of their way to ring me and ask if I already knew about it. As it turned out the scratch happened a week earlier at a shopping mall and I knew of it and said as much, but I could have easily said otherwise and they would have assumed it was one of their apprentices or whatever. I have had my Zed since 15-May, hit 10K klicks in early Nov. Usual stuff checked, cost $244.
I always change oil/filter myself at 5000kms and do a basic service/safety check @ same time (pull wheels off, check bearings and brake pads) and check fluids every fortnight. Have 13,000 klicks up now and engine running sweetly and gearbox shift quality finally settling down - drive to city and back to Kangaroo Ground each day, averaging 9.8 litred per hundred. Have sourced an oil cooler and ready to fit this weekend, as oil temps hit 135 degrees C after less than 4 laps of Sandown late in Oct - pita really ... have also replaced OEM front rotors with 2-piece motorsport rotors (made my own hats to fit them). The OEM brakes work quite well with decent pads (Endless) and have fitted KU36 tyres as a compromise over the Advan Sports the car came with - not the best tyre out there, but sorta-sticky with the added benefit of having the right load index. Has anyone turned laps at Sandown yet ?? What lap times represent a bog-stock car - any feedback ?? |
