370Z Driver Killed

I hope this is not one of our guys on this forum. The following news article is from channel 9 news: Man killed in Melbourne cliff crash

A man has died after his sports car plunged about 10m down a cliff to the bank of the Yarra River in Melbourne's outer northeast this morning.

The driver of the late model Nissan, aged in his mid-20s, has been confirmed dead as emergency crews attempt to pull the vehicle from alongside the Yarra River near Everard Drive in the semi-rural suburb of Warrandyte.

The car reportedly left the road and rolled down the embankment about 7.10am.

It landed on its roof but short of the water.

A police spokeswoman told 3AW Radio the car is believed to have been travelling at about 100km/h on the narrow road — double the speed limit.

The driver was also not wearing a seatbelt.

Police said that initial reports that suggested another person was travelling in the car are false.

The driver is believed to have been a local of the community, located about 30km from the CBD.

"It's a pretty horrific scene here, the fall’s probably 40 to 50 feet into the river bank, the Yarra River here at Warrandyte," a witness told 3AW Radio.

Nah this was a 350z, was near my house, I saw the photos of it, the 350zs roof was flat on the car and the road looked so narrow... a bit of a bad stretch to be speeding on (if he was)...

Still very sad to see at just 24 years old... makes me realise how stupid I was when I was younger and the risks i used to take......

Sad to hear.

Is that a PC way of saying the guy was driving like a douche and drove off a cliff?
I'd almost feel bad if he even bothered wearing a seatbelt. They only increase your chance of survival by 50%.

it sucks but atleast no one else got hurt..

i guess now he'll learn to fasten his seat belt and somewhat follow the speed limit
