iPod cable?
Hi everyone,
If everything goes well I'll be taking delivery of my Carbon Silver manual tomorrow morning - about 14hrs away! I have a question though - do we get the iPod integration in Australia? Is it an aftermarket feature that we can have installed by the dealer? This thread seems to indicate as much, but I wanted a definite answer if possible: http://www.the370z.com/australia-new...tml#post102887 When we asked about aftermarket features they didn't mention anything about it, but said it had iPod integration. What they showed me was an audio cable plugged into the centre console's inputs. What I want is this: YouTube - Nissan 370Z iPod Interface |
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...
We are currently unable to get the functionality shown on the youtube clip. Not as a nissan option or as an after market part. You can connect a chord from Ipod to RCA inputs in the centre arm rest but all control must be done using the Ipod itself. There is no integrated functionality. The only marginal improvement you can get after market is that you can make it so that it will charge your Ipod as well as connect to RCA inputs. I am as filthy as you probably are on the topic..... |
We'll have to wait a few years for the 400Z maybe?
Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll go back to being as excited and happy as I was before I looked at the video ;) |
You should be excited ! They are an awesome car !!!!

Is there really no way to get this functionality. Is this confirmed Couple questions: What is displayed on the screen while playing the IPOD? Has anyone tried playing video on the ipod, does it display ok? |
Yup video plays but I had to set output in settings of iPhone to NTSC. Depending on conversion, it's a little fuzzy sometimes. When playing music it's the background as in climate etc. I just press Map.

Are you just adding the sub and amp to the stock system? cos you'll need an equaliser (I had a thread in the audio section stock sub wiring or something) to stop the bose head unit cutting out the bass at higher levels. its about 150 delivered on ebay... |
i'm getting an 8" bazooka sub with powered amp inside the tube like sub, fits nicely at the back and looks alright, doesn't need a box or anything. I am just adding it to the stock system as its pretty decent, just adding a bit of doof doof, there is no need for an equaliser i don't think, bang for your bux sub and amp! My mate has the new 2009 lotus, he installed a 6" bazooka in the back of his lotus and it goes off, he highly recommends it

Yeah they are pretty good, the equaliser thingy is there because when you put the volume up on the head unit, it automatically drops the bass as the volume increases. This little box keeps it constant.

Hi Guys, I am going to get my Z this weekend (fingers crossed). I am wondering if there is a 3.5mm Jack for the iPod like in most cars nowdays.

I have the Lexus IS250 and it has a 3.5mm jack that connects to the headphone socket of my ipod. That to me a relatively elegant and cheap solution. I was under the impression that the Nissan had DVD playback. Guessing thats not the case. Can I play music from a DVD? (assuming the 6 stacker is a DVD stacker) |
