1st oil change

Just sent the car in for the first oil change after 2200km. Still wonder why Nissan suggest change after 6mths/10,000km mark?

Got them to change it to a Greddy oil filter and Mobil 1 oil, all up $170. Starting to think I won't go back to Nissan service if I can get a better and cheaper service elsewhere. Any suggestions for Adelaide?

Engine does feel smoother after the oil change, now just waiting for my K&N air filters to arrive.

Kidd is that your silver one down at myer? looking sexy! did you get your reverse sensor at nissan or after market?
I suggest stay at nissan for service for the mean time, brand new car and warranty and stuff, stay on the safe side. hahaha
GReddy O/F and KN air filter sweet!! oil wise, doesn't nissan have their own special oil like honda?

I'll get back to ya about workshops that can do better and cheaper service and knows nissan cars inside out.

Have not been at Myer's awhile now, must have been weeks back. LOL
Will only go to another mechanic if they do scheduled maintenance logbook services and use genuine Nissan or quality parts checked by owner, eg. didn't want Nissan oil filters, so did a bit of research myself -> choice of GReddy/K&N oil filters.

Nissan has they're Nissan motor oil, which is a Shell (dunno if it's mineral/synthetic based), but I wanted Mobil 1, which is what they use for the GTR, but is also a semi-synthetic + ester based oil = longer durability, cleaner engine, bit more expensive.

Come across any other similar oils?

Neo370, so far only seen another blue one on the streets around eastern suburbs, and I think I know who owns it. Where r u usually at? Interested to have a SA cruise when we round up a few more.

Sorry, forgot bout ur rear sensor question
Coz I got the car so early, the Nissan sensors were no available yet, so the salesman recommended that I get my rear sensors installed before getting my paint protection with the same aftermarket car care company. They installed two sensors for about $400

hahaha yeah it was awhile back when i saw your car at myer, similar oil... nah i would stick with mobile 1 gold it's good stuff, but i thought it was fully synthetic, i only asked the question cause honda highly recommend ppl to use honda oil for honda engines. so i just thought nissan might be the same? guess not! lol

i live in the western suburbs and only seen another red one down my way, my brother knows the guy so yeah, might get into contact with him and see if his interested when the time comes.

which nissan dealer did you go to? main north? cause i was thinking to get GT autosound to install my sensors for me but booked in for paint and interior protection with 1k service so don't know if i might as well get them to do sensor cause of factory warranty??

Well, Kidd.
I believe the easiest way to save yourself some money is a DIY.
there's a really great write up on Oil Change in the DIY section.
Oil Change isn't really a hard thing to do.
If a girl like myself can do so, then so can you.

Yea, got mine at Main North, u?
Interested in getting an iPod connector too, will check with Stu to see where he's getting his done. The dealer gets aftermarket sales ppl to fit the sensors, they did a pretty good job
Just spoke to another mate of mine - he ordered a Black 370, probably 2mths away.

I guess if I see any other 370s on the road, gonna yell the forum's address and gather up some ppl for SA cruise

Neo370 08-26-2009 01:48 PM

yeah same here main north!! i dealt with steve arnold, your mate getting a black one, i actually wish i didn't get a black one now, too much work to keep it clean and hella scared of lil rocks on the road hahaha noticeable stone chips, not yet though thank god.

Well i'm gonna get my stuff done at GT autosound seeing they do very expensive cars and stuff, so i know my baby is in good hands.

370's are popping up everywhere now in adelaide.. ain't they hahaha common biggest 370 cruise in oz lol

Hey Angie. I have noticed that DIY Oil Change and plan on doing myself as well. Probably do it every 2500km. The good thing is, is that it wont effect warranty.

You just get Nissan/Authorised Mech to do the scheduled service intervals. I must agree that every 10k is a bit much IMHO for a performance engine.
