Question used car prices suck atm

Kind of a horrid way to start off with my first post but it has to be said used car prices for the 370 are a joke at the moment. Few months ago you could pick up a dealer used here in qld for around 40k for an 09. Now it seems the cheapest available 09 manual in QLD is more like 45k for a private sale. Marked value for an 09 manual is more like 39k. Im so confused since when did cars appreciate in value like this.

I'm guessing the supply/cars available for sale has decreased overall for the Z in your area. There was a shortage from the Tsunami that may be catching up with the market.

I'm thinking the entire used car market has been elevated ever since "cash for clunkers".

yeah there are only a few for sale here in qld at the moment. Just makes it hard for me at the moment trying to find what i want at a decent price since some idiot in a corolla decided to hit me head on and write off my R33 few weeks back

cash for clunker was 4 years ago on old gas guzzlers. if anything. there are more used ones available now thanks to it. use some logic

Actually all of those cash for clunker cars had to be destroyed. They are not in the market. Yes it was a few years ago and the used car market may have recovered some. It does take a car awhile to become "used". Now be nice.

You should really think about coming to the states, purchasing a 370z and shipping it back.

After all is said and done you can pick up an 09-10 for 25K with 20k on the engine.

You will be paying $3500 to $8000 to ship your vehicle from CA to Australia.

But that still leaves you on the higher side at 33k. Which is 10 grand lower then Australia.

Might be an option?

Most of the cars that were destroyed were worth less than $3K or $4K and they are not exactly desirable. You think there is that big of a market for a bunch of rape vans, caravans, V8 sedans?

I clunkered my Q45 on the first day

Don't forget, the Aussies drive on the wrong side of the road. If he was to import one from North America, the steering wheel would be on the left. FYI.

I know someone with a 240z with the steering wheel on the right side. He drives it everyday.. I think you can get used to it!

Convert it to what? Is the petrol different? Safety equipment? Emissions? Do you have to mount the tires on the roof for a car Down Under? Inquiring minds want to know!

It could be worse. Imported cars like the 370z that are sold in Thailand are taxed 300 % , so the price of a new 370z in Thailand is well over $100,000 ! crazy
