If you go an aftermarket box, amp and 10-12" sub that will add a lot of weight over the rear... Is it worth it?

Darren waits to be told "You can never have enough bass!" :)

just my 2c

I'll first have to say, you can have too much bass. I'm more a fan of sound quality than a big BOOM sound. Admittedly for a BOSE system it's fairly accurate, but so far have only had music through my iPod (ripped at 320k).

As for the weight, if we can make custom box for that area just behind the seats, it's fairly central and will even the weight out if anything.

Amen to that Ellz. Once you hit a tunnel/forest/built up area you cant beat rolling down the windows, turning down the stereo and dropping a gear or 2:tup:.

Also by the way heading out to the Time Attack event at QR today to have a look and see how it goes TimeAttack - Home. I wont be racing today, but should be fun none the less.

Yeah you can get too much bass, to be honest I had my amp turned right down for the subs, but just having that little extra bit over the stock sub just made the system sound and feel a whole lot better.

But a big yes from tunnel driving lol... My favourite was the East Link tunnel, dropping down a few gears and cruising at higher revs.... lol

Nice, i like checking out the pics from the Time attacks, some great cars out there.
I used to race my 350 at QR in the SAT weekends. (Still got my semi-slicks)

Is this something you will be looking into in the future also?

Sound quality and reproduction is where it is at personally. I have spent a small fortune on my Home Theater setup and just sitting back and listening to quality music of any kind. I am after similar quality for the car (less expense mind you), but then when it comes for tunnel time, volume and windows are down and the revs are up:tup:.

Just a little Stillen exhaust drive by, that i reckon would sound sweet through any tunnel.

Hey Ellz. After having a quick look today, i'm definately going to go out for some runs. I've had a few runs around Mt.Cotton in my old Turbo Suzuki Swift, but this would be so much better.

I have never done any proper Track work and it seems like such a good way to get the Adreneline out of the system, instead of doing it on the road. It's great to know another member might be interested in this as well. Also thanks to my Sales guy in getting me to check it out. Lastky i might even look into some Drifting as well.

A link for those in QLD that might be interested in some Time Attack track work. There might be other links also, if there are post them up.

The only good thing about my shift work is that i work 4 days on then 4 off. So there will be some Wednesdays and some Saturdays that i can do. Never had a look at Lakeside, but that would be another great option also.

That Stillen drive by sounds great. I'd be interested in a group buy as well. Probably only looking for a cat back system too.

Well I had a quote sent to me for 3 exhausts and 3 intakes.. it came to :

$6317.99 Total USD

But the shipping was a bit weird so ive sent off another email to clarify it.. It basically said door to melb airport... dunno what happens to it after that lol..

ill wait for a response. either way the exhaust is 1260.33USD each and intakes are 549USD each.

I'll keep everyone posted when i get a response

Heya guys in melb also. Z arrive on boat 6th aug so assume i will get it a few weeks after that. Let me know when there is a melb meet up, i will be there.

GTRFAN 08-02-2009 04:19 AM

So whats the expected delivery date for most people? Mid August?

Just out of interest, my Z has a build date of 07/09 and was at the dealer on the 22/07/09, so it doesn't take long from build to customer.

I'm keen for a Melb meet as soon as a few of us have Z's, even if you don't it'll still be good to put a face to a name.

Well I have no date yet, but he tells me maybe 2 weeks from now.... So I guess I'll just have to sit tight...
