Ordered a 370Z Today!
I've put down a deposit today and the dealer estimates it will arrive around September. For those who have ordered one, did you / are you getting the truSeal paint protection / leather protection, etc? I'm not sure if all Nissan dealers offer it but I was wondering if it was worth getting done.

BIG congrats! I know you have been researching and reading up on the forum for last few months. I really wanted to see the 19" rims in Australian Zs. Hopefully Nissan will bring them next year (or you can convince me to sell mine ;))
I didn't get those "protection" coverage. I personally do not think they worth it but I never bought them with ANY of my cars. I will let other members give you true feedback on it. Good luck with everything. |
Thanks. Wow, you were quick in replying. Yes, those 19" rims are sexy and I still plan to buy them... I just hope some of you guys want to sell them soon :)

It's going to be a long wait
It's going to be a long wait but worth it. I love mine, can't wait to finish work each day so I can drive it.

Grats dude.
Am i right is saying your from Melbourne? What colour did you go with? |
Congrats - my order has gone through too - I think estimated delivery date for mine is the end of August. I didn't bother with any of the protections on paint or interior - personally think it's a waste as I'm a clean freak anyway. Only options I went for were carpet mats and tinted windows.
Good to see you are also moving from a WRX. I'm currently driving a 2007 WRX STI - which I love. However when i first found out about the 370Z I knew I had to have one. I travelled over to Melbourne to see it at the motor show and have finally placed the order. Now to sell the STI. Cheers, Stu |
Big congrats 370er:tup:.
I only picked mine up yesterday (I was lucky dealer had one in stock). I personally didn't get the protection stuff for a couple of reasons and AK, has mentioned one of them. As I also dont think it's worth it for what the dealer chargers for it. Plus for us in Aus at least it carries the 30% LCT as the cars are already over the threshold. Also I personally believe IMHO you can get much better jobs done and cheaper, by going aftermarket. Lastly if you look after the car and use good car cleaning products/waxes it will keep your car just as well looked after. It also looks like there is a few of us trading/selling STI/WRX's for the 370Z. BTW You will love when you first get I guarantee it. |
G'day guys! nice to see the 370z OZ community is getting larger - put my order in about 3 weeks ago - still patiently waiting for a delivery date - gutted that we dont get the 19" wheels...
finished the car off well I thought! and can't have cost that much more than the 18" - oh well.... only option I went for was tinted windows... turned down the paint protection aftersales for same reasons as mentioned.... nice to meet you all cheers, irishboy |
Ellz - I'm from Traralgon which is about 1 hour 40 mins from Melbourne. The good thing about living here is that my Z will be very unique. Particularly because I got Chicane Yellow. The dealer had a yellow auto as demo but some vet brought it the other week. I ordered a yellow manual. I better take a few manual driving lessons :p
nismostu - I'm a clean freak also and think i'd look after it enough not to need this extra protection. I think I will get them to tint the windows and i'll buy the mats at a later time. Thankfully this stuff can be added after I pay for the car to avoid LCT on these things. I actually own an Impreza RX, but it looks like an Sti :P It's a really nice limited edition blue and will go nicely in the garage with my yellow Z. It's a great car and i'm going to keep it for the practicality reasons. MrBMW - Congrats! I look forward to seeing some pics of your Z... and same goes for everyone else :) It's good to see more people replying here ... this forum has been invaluable. That's another advantage of owning a Z over some other cars I was looking at - the support in the forums is very helpful. irishboy - I was also gutted we didn't get the 19s, as you all probably know from my other posts. I still plan to buy them from ebay or something if I get the chance but they are still hard to come by at the moment. |

maybe if we pestered nissan they could include it as an option?? we're paying more than twice the price of the US and getting less for it! saw on the options page that came with the brochure that a reverse pack is offered, but strangely the dealer said the only options were paint colour and gearbox.... hmmmmmmmmmm...... will get on to them soon to see where my car is - they must have some idea surely you'd think! ;) |

As for paying twice as much i agree. Although we do get more than the US guys. For them to get our cars if i'm correct they have to tick basically EVERY option box. The only real differences is they get 19's we dont. They get PROPER iPod connection, we get AV jacks :wtf:. We get rear windscreen wipers they dont. Also as pointed out to me in my other thread that i posted in the new owners section in the main part of the forum, there are those little BUMPS under the headlights, which are washers. From my dealer "They are headlight washers every 5 times you rinse your windscreen (when your headlights are ON) they will open and squirt soapy water on your headlights !" |

i saw it - but when I asked the salesman - only options were colour and gearbox type... just goes to show how little they know about their product hey! how much was your camera setup MRBMW - looks like a nice setup to me! :) |

I suppose someone who has had a Reverse Camera installed on another car whether the $600 would be a good price or not. |
...and we also get electric "fold-in" mirrors and they're heated which apparently the US don't get. There's definitely pros and cons.
