They said they were doing test drives, all dealerships are getting one 370z that they must keep as a demos..... unfortunately i didnt have time to take it for a drive.... waiting for my local dealer to get one in. |
370z in SYDNEY
Heys Guys, got a call from the dealer, they have the car in today. The sales manager told me they have 2 in but all sold, so no test drive.... one is manual one automatic, will take a look tomorrow.
PS:they got some more coming in this week. |
Hot damn!
Gonna check Highway Nissan to see if they have one. |
Booked a test drive for tomorrow lunch time :D
|
Took it for a spin :D
One hell of a car. Now to sell off the 350 |
FINALLY!!!! placed an order in today, should have it by the end of financial year. Hardest part is to decide the colour, still cant make up my mind, need to tell the dealer in 2 weeks time......Carbon Grey or White.
|
Guys, can we seriously not get the nice 19" wheels as an option?
What if you said you wouldn't place an order without them? |
We can only get the crummy looking 18" and we don't get a choice with interior either.
Black only. Nissan guys couldn't tell me anything about the car as they havent had their training session on it yet. I just told them what options are available in the US. I'm still hunting around for the best price. |
I have been emailing a few dealers. One guy said this:
"Currently the wheels offered are 18 inch high performance Alloy Wheels and Tyres. Rays 19 inch Forged Alloy Wheels are still available through our spare parts departments." :yum: I still haven't given one a test drive yet - something to look forward to. |
Are there any good sites to look at for aftermarket wheels for the 370Z?
|
I have challenged a NSW Nissan dealer if he can get me the 19" wheels from Japan/USA (don't care where) I will change dealers and he can have my order. I am not paying $75K for a sports car with crappy looking high profile wheels ...
And then there is the known engine oil overheating issue which could be a big problem here in Australia ... we shall see. |
I just went to my local dealer and did a test drive. The dealer didn't know if he could get the 19s. Said it could be possible to order them from US/Japan but said they'd probably cost atleast 5k, without tires even! Does this sound right? I'm curious as to what the additional cost will be for the 19s. He's going to try to find out about it. Let me know how you go too.
|
Yikes! If your looking at 5k for a set of 19" Rays i think i'd rather go get a set of aftermarket 20's. Volks ofcourse.
Dunno how you guys have gone with the base price of the 370 but I got offered 73k then went down to 71k. Only been to 1 dealer though so far. |

PS: what colour u prefer. |
The dealer I spoke to said he will try to order from Japan through NIssan spare parts - he thought it will be alot cheaper than $6K. Have not heard back yet. We jus tneed to keep pressuring Nissan Australia and get them to throw a few sets on the next boat from Japan (or no sale) - it is not rocket science.
And yeah Drivers-republic are the guys that used to work for EVO Magazine so they drive hard. |
If we can get the 19s are the 18s subtracted from the overall price?
Are you guys getting manual or auto? |
I'm in Brisbane, Looking at getting a Black manuel Z. Should be getting a call back from the 2nd dealer in regaards to their price.
|
I don't know how to drive an auto.
|
ffs how come australia gets it before uk? bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooo
|
Was quoted $69k negotiable at one of the dealers in Melbourne after mentioning $72k from Bright Nissan (auto, drive away price).
|
Test drove it this week from Dandenon Nissan......is freakin awsome. Hopefully i can order one next month. Also asked about the 19's the guy wasnt sure, will try find out for me.
|
Just got offered 74 for one, even after i said i can get one for 70 and they didn't wanna budge. "We got it in stock and we are located close to you"
|
Honestly guys, you might as well get a set of 19" Rays Volk (and a set of wide-a55 tyres). Puny REAR 245x18 just doesn't do this car justice.
Your saving and your differentiating! Z88M, are you trading in your RX8? If so, let me know how you go...I've got 120k on mine. |
tuan0011 looks like if we rev the 370z engine like the rotary (ala like a sports car should be driven) it is going to get all hot and limp! The crap 18" wheels and the chronic engine overheating issue in the US are holding back my purchase.
|
Hmmm there's not many other cars to choose from in this category. Maybe a Cayman for double the price? :p
I'm also hesitating due to the same reasons. Maybe the 2010 model will have the oil problem fixed and some nice 19" wheels. |
Deposit paid on the 370 :D
Collect it in a month!!!!! |
Congrats Ellz! What colour...
I second that. Just had a look at the wheels...sad. Especially for Japanese car @ 70k. I don't plan to track (that's what i said about rx8 too) but it'd be nice to know a sports car could handle it straight out of the box. There's the S3 and 135i, no looker, but the quality and the fact that they're Euro is tempting. The new Z4 is quite something too imo. A 2010 RX7 would make the choice much easier for me. |
Tuan. Love the rx8 - it is hard to give up. Doing a 370z track day/test drive at oran park on 22 May. If the engines don't overheat (and are not modified with extra oil coolers) i might make the switch. Will report back on how it goes.
Funny how the 370z is overheating in the US after a few minutes of spirited driving- just got the rx8 back from car service and the mazda guys tell me i need to redline the engine more! That's more like it! |

Black, Manual.
Moving over my 19" Volk GT-C's from my 350 so im gonna be happy with wheels for the mean time. Now to think about ordering my Stillen Gen 3 intake and exhaust :D |
How much did you pay at the end? Which dealer, Ipswich Road / Lutwyche Road or others?? Probably in the market for one at the end of the year.

OoOo GTC's...happy days then ellz! I think the offset on the fronts of 370 are a tad weaker compared to the 350z. is that true ellz?
z88m look forward to hearing your review. I enjoyed the fact that the rx8 could hammer 10 laps at a time without brake fade/engine problems. I expect the 370z to do at least that given its credentials. |
After goin through 6 different dealers, only 1 dealer stood out from all the others.
Most offer 74ish, with 2 exceptions. Highway Nissan for 71k and Keema Nissan Logan Road Mt Gravatt for much less again. At the other dealers I only ever spoke to the sales reps (fair enough, they look at me and see a young driver possibly only tire kicking). Kemma Nissan I was lucky enough to speak with the owner who insisted on meeting up with me for coffee the very same day i sent the email. He met me 2 hours later across the road from my work in the city. After he bought me a beer we did the negotiations on buying the z34 and trading in my z33. I am now getting a deal that i can only discribe as a 'mates rates' deal. But i challenge any of you who purchased a japanese or domestic car out there that got better service from their dealer. The dealer did everything they could for me including giving me a run about car while i move houses when i trade my 350z in and before i receive the 370. From my experience they sell you a car then wave you goodbye hoping to never see you again. But the effort Keema Nissan put in is worth every $. If you live in Brisbane and you want a 370z. Kemma Nissan Logan Road, Mt Gravatt. |
