Default Car Jacks/ Stands

Hi All,

I first posted this on the American section so thought I'd re-post here to get some local ideas.

I want to remove my wheels (one at a time) to give them a thorough clean and treat them with a product thats suppose to help keep them clean.

I'm trying to plan this job and can fore see my wheels being off for a while (maybe a day) and I'm thinking the supplied car jack may not be the best tool for the job.

I'd like to jack my car up and then place stands in the "correct" places.

How would you guys go about this?

Can you recommend any jacks/stands that I should buy ?

Regards

Jack

The 'search' button is your friend here. There was a similar thread before, so please search. Pics with hockey-puck, towels, etc. are also in the thread.

Basically, the preferred locations to support the car with 4 jack stands would be the areas used by the scissor-jack. Use some padding to protect these areas.

Note that even though I have the 'lowest' low-profile jack, I still need to raise the car with the scissor-jack to gain access to the front jack point.
