Are our beaZts expensive down under, dudes?! Down here (Puerto Rico), they're very expensive (local govm't duty, plus transportation charges from the U.S.) I had to get me a used '04 350, but it's a flawless monZter, thank God. Cheers!

I would say they are expensive down under. Drive away price is about US$69,000 for the manual.

Very, very unfriendly, Gazza. Remember: You represent Aussies in this forum, creating impressions on forum members from other countries. Hate to be so kinda straight-for-the liver, but it was rude from you. Anyway, you win. I'm outta here. Cheers, Aussies.

I'm Sorry you feel that way mate... I certainly wasn't intending to offend anyone... I was merely just stating a fact.....

Don't feel bad Gazz. This thread isn't one about Z prices compared to other countries.

Now. Who the hell is #15??

? I live like 2 minutes away from you but never seen you. Do you drive it around or mostly track?

75db? :( I'm far from that lol

EVL370 04-12-2010 05:38 AM

Your Stillen/Berk cats would be more then that at idol.

Like I said, its a custom system to make sure it was legal - I had a 3" system on ly last car (Impresa STi) that caused enormous problems with the EPA.

CAMS sprint regulations call for < 75Dba at 30 metres drive-by under full throttle and EPA rules are <82Dba measured 1 metre from exhaust outlet, at 45 degree angle at 65% rev's (about 4800 in 370Z). It is all about how you put the mufflers together. System is still being refined as we try different mufflers.

Since I have a motorsport background, I am using one of my motorsport contacts from Ballarat ... when we get the system completely tuned - I'll publish all the details. Being built in midl-steel to keep the research costs down, but once we have it all done, can be spec'd up in stainless.

The Zed is my daily driver - but unles you are up at 6:00am, you are unlilely to see me as I am an early starter ()and late finisher) in the CBD.

I also have a Marque Sports car which I have run in the Victorian Sports Car championships since 1988 - cannot compete with the latest Porsches but can still keep up with early 90's Porkers and such-like.

The Zed gets a spanking every now and then - corporate drive days at Sandonw and the occaisional sprint event - I will be entering the MSCA sprint at Philip Island on 30-May to give it its next spanking ~!~~!!! ....

Oil cooler, sump extender and NISMO finned diff cover were fitted by Dontex Automotive in Vermont - they are good guys.

Parts all purchased from Kyle at Import Parts Pro in Spring, Texas who has always done me a good deal.

Well let me be the first to Officially welcome you (even though you've been around since Dec..lol) and offer you an invite to our spontaneous and rarely planned cruises!

Now who's number 16? All you regulars better jump on board soon before all the end of April deliveries come in and we have newbies jumping on!

BGTV8 04-12-2010 10:11 PM

Thanks for that .. have been watching intermittently .... also have a 300ZXTT being race-prepped in the family plus my own race car and been diverted by these projects for the past few months. Am not really into cruises ... more of a motorsport nut .. need track days so I stay legal on the highway ... all to easy to rack up points and take an enforced driving "holiday" in Victoria - the "Nanny-state", these days.
