Hey Termac, if you don't mind me asking, how much were the nismo rims delivered here?

You've put together a nice list dude, it's pretty much exactly what I wanted haha also having the black car :P

I wanted the nismo exhaust as well but when I bought my parts I couldn't get one easily down here (and cheaply) so I ended up with Stillen and Berk cats the volume seemed similar but not with the cats haha it was all good though when I saw the dyno chart had + 14rwKw :)

Hi evse82

PM me, the deal was private with another forum member and is still in transit.

Stillen would be my second choice but concerned with ground clearance on the pipes entry to the rear muffler. What's your experience on scraping and exhaust note, maybe PM me on this one too.

Don't want to hijack Majestiks thread.

I pm'd you but i'll post this here too, (about the stillen) From memory when we were installing it the lowest point on the car was actually the centre pipes which still sat above the cross member.

The only reason they look low is because of the hose clamps which give the pipes a lower look, still i think it's a little higher if not the same as the stock pipes in the back going into the rear muffler.....

However, I may be wrong, this is all from memory when it was up on the hoist and my memory is shot to hell these days lol

Omg! I just got quoted $480usd just to ship the cosmetic parts from The Z Store.

That's not including any duty when it arrives!!

Does this sound normal? Is there anway around duty or to minimise shipping???

Help!!

evse82 03-31-2010 05:32 PM

do the cosmetic parts pass the $1000 limit?

Just...

Lord Kain 03-31-2010 05:35 PM

The limit is different for different types of parts.

Bloody hell what are you ordering ? I've shipped exhaust systems from the U.S and postage wasn't that high!

YOU CARBON WHORE!!!!!!

Termac 03-31-2010 06:26 PM

Majestik

Here is what I have done but remember it is still a work in progress for me too.

Set up an account with a freight forwarding company such as Bongous, Viaddress or Borderlinx (Thanks gtrfan).

I am using Viaddress at Elkhart Indiana but there are many others.
See this link for some background info good and bad. Have anyone used MyUS.com or BongoUS? - Mac Forums

The main trick is costs of the freight forwarder and the air freight cost. Be ready for large numbers.

Pay for the goods using Paypal and there are tricks for lowering the commision costs for this to, but I digress.

Get your supplier to ship (normally free in the lower 48 states) to your US freight forwarder.

Then get your Freight Forwarder to ship to your door in Australia.

Don't be afraid of the import issues if using Fedex, customs clearance will be done by them free of charge as part of the service.

The costs will be in the order of 5% import duty plus the GST 10% plus the customs clearance fee $55. You need to pay the piper if you want to play in the band.

Remember any item fully manufactured in the US should fall into the Free Trade Agreement and be treated favorably for Customs Duties. But this opens a can of worms for the paper work so it needs to save hundreds of dollars not tens to be worth it.

Thats my thoughts hope it helps. The way I am going I might drop my day job and start to import gear lol.

YOU CARBON WHORE!!!!!!

Its mainly the carbon bits, K&N filters etc (DAMN I HATE BEING A CARBON WHORE!!!).

9 items and the largest would be the CF front fangs.

Total purchsae from Zstore is only $690.50USD and they wanna charge me $489.17USD shipping??

Is there something not right here???

EVL370 03-31-2010 08:18 PM

Sounds like they have quoted per item for shipping not packing everything together .

No deal dude.

Must be in the to hard basket to post to Australia.

There are some crappy reviews regarding the badges too. How they dont sit correctly.

Why K&N filters and not a intake?

GTRFAN 03-31-2010 08:53 PM

Majestic - Re shipping - Here's a summary of the US forwarders from aother forum - Have anyone used MyUS.com or BongoUS? - Mac Forums

Mail Forwarding of American Products for International Delivery - Best tracking with DHL, Great technology, great customer service, great prices. This is who I use now.

MyUS - US Mail Forwarding, Worldwide Shipping - largest of the group, great prices, but some hidden fees, poor response time.

http://www.usa2me - ok technology, good customer service, high prices with additional fuel added when you ship

Mail Forwarding and US Address Solution from US Global Mail, International Mail Forwarding - older technology/website, good customer service, high prices

3 Reasons.

I dont want any warranty issues.

From what I read, gains are only above 7K rpm.

Have to retune the whole lot if CAI, HFC, CBE fromw hat Ive read.
