Fast Intentions Exhuast question ??

Hi guys,

New to this forum and about to upgrade the 350z for a 370z, just a question to all you Fast Intention owners,

How long did it take for the exhaust to arrive and how much did it cost ( + shipping etc)?

and

How loud is the exhuast system (18", 12" what ever)?

Thanks in advance guys and looking forward to join the 370 side :driving:

Cheers

Hey mate, welcome... do you have an exhaust on your 350? If so which one? I could try to give you an idea of loudness.....

Also where in Melb are you?

VQHRZED 03-03-2010 06:15 PM

Hi, yes i do have an exhaust, its a Fujitsubo legalis R with the y-pipe, not that loud to be honest, would of prefered it to be louder

Im located close to Edithvale/Chelsea area

Cool, yeah thats a nice exhaust dude, well it'll be louder than that. But that is if you get the high flow cats as well. I had the hitech on my 350 and although I was really happy with the volume, I secretly wanted more.... lol

As far as cat back to cat back... it should be relatively similar but louder than the legalis (not overpowering though. it's a bit deeper but has a really nice note)

I haven't got the FI i went the stillen/berk path, but base this all from hearing the other members cars during cruises and ride alongs :)

VQHRZED 03-03-2010 06:52 PM

Thanks for that evse82, i know exactly what you mean by wanting more volume lol, Ive been listening to youtube clips of the F.I exhaust and love how deep the tone is but i cant decide to go with 18" resonators or 12", ive read the larger the resonator the quiter and deeper the tone is but i dont want something similiar to the fuji in terms of how timid it is, but i guess from what you have heard it sounds like a great piece, might have to pop into the next meet and hassle the guys with the F.I exhausts lol

evse82 03-03-2010 07:01 PM

Yeah man you're always welcome to come... Don't base your decision on youtube because it sounds completely different in person than behind the camera. Either way if you wanted a louder exhaust, you'll be happy with it.

hmmm, Love the idea of the FI exhaust.

Its a good looking exhaust.

Don't think its such a good idea for Melbourne roads.

I think Berk FTW when it comes out.

Lord Kain 03-04-2010 03:52 PM

I have a HiTech on my 370, they make 3 different versions now.

markymark 03-04-2010 04:34 PM

Kain any chance of a vid? :)

Why dont you think FI exhaust is a good idea for Melbourne roads? Too lound? Too low?

Being to low is more the issue I reckon. End of the day we have 70k vehicles. Why resist where you can take your car? Eg, Car parks, drive ways and little day to day bumps and so on...

Plus you have to remeber also, anything we bring over from the states is going to be over 90db. FI's cannon design wouldnt help in the looks department if you get picked up by the cops. Having said that, I am in my early 20's and live in the northern subs hmmm

I had a crazy loud CPE exhaust on my Mazda 3 MPS from the states. Never had a issue because it was stock looking and I drove it hard.

End of the day...You know where you live and your local roads.

VQHRZED 03-06-2010 01:19 AM

Yeah, agree with you hundred percent, i was thinking of the carbon fibre cannons to try and reduce any attention from the cops as i will be getting a black 370z.

How bad is the FI exhaust clearance? The lowest part looks to be very close to the back wheels, it shouldnt bottom out as bad compared to if it were closer to the rear bumper (at stock height).

The legal limit in Victoria is 100mm clearance.

EVL370 03-17-2010 08:54 AM

I pm F.I asking some questions about the exhaust.

I've done a total 180.

I'm sure others here have notice the issue with the Berk exhaust systems.

Dunno how it would turn up to Aus..Atleast the F.I exhaust a couple of aussie members ordered made it .

VQHRZED 03-17-2010 09:04 AM

EVL370 what do you mean by "I've done a total 180"

Does anyone here know the clearance of the F.I exhaust on stock suspension? Really love the the sound and looks but the whole clearance thing is getting me worried.

EVL370 03-17-2010 09:16 PM

I dunno, I didn't listen in math methods.

X2 regarding clearance.

However I was reading somewhere the front lip will be the first thing to hit not the mufflers. Plus you can get some kind of plates attached to the mufflers.

I will wait a couple of months to see how berk goes.

VQHRZED 03-17-2010 09:27 PM

Berk seems to be having some quality contol issues, pipes not lining up and all, and i didnt even do math methods :P

EVL370 03-17-2010 09:42 PM

Yeah it's really bad atm, However people are standing by berk.

The good thing about F.I I find is they have that personal touch. As in if I PM'ed them asking for extra wrapping for shipping to Aus. I know it would get done.

VQHRZED 03-17-2010 09:57 PM

well that sort of customer service makes all the difference

TJZ 03-19-2010 09:01 PM

I'm also looking into the FI exhaust, their website suggests $1100US +shipping. Anyone in Aus that owns one, can they please let us know what the end cost was? (purchase, shipping, fitting).

Also, anyone got their HFC?
