Default Paint production and maintenance package

Hi all 370Z owners

Firstly, I'm very happy to join this forum and also proud to become a 370Z owner as the 370Z is by far the best car I've driven to date. I collected my 370Z on Friday and prior to me collecting the car, the salesman tried to sell me this maintenance package and paint protection package. He claimed that without the paint protection package, the paint will wear out in 2-3 years. I didnt buy in because I was told that using wax regularly will give you similar result...

Second thought, have I made the right decision?

You made the right choice. Dealer paint packages are a huge rip off. Those guys have no clue what they are talking about. All they use is a cheap polymer sealant that washes off in about 10 washes. Buy a good sealant or wax and do it your self. I've been operating my own detailing business for many years and this has always really pissed me off.

As long as you look after it with your own car care maintenance you'll be fine. They just try to get every dollar out of you as they can. Congrats on your new purchase
