Hey Guys,

I'm not getting much feedback from the other threads I started because here in the states not many people buy a Z without the sports package which comes with the 19s. Have any of you guys weighed the stock 18s yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Cheers,

Tim

Hi Tim

We can only order the Z with 18" and the 19" are not even available as an accessory, except on the Roadster where it appears to be standard. Do you want the rim and tire weights or just the rims only. There will be a few sets around where the guys have replaced them with after market.

I will be making some changes in the next few weeks maybe I can help then if the question is not resolved.

Both weights would be ideal.

My understanding is that they are substantially lighter than the OEM Rays 19" wheels. I just want to know how much lighter.

Based on the past (350z) the 18" wheels weight around 22-28 pounds each depending on year, so it will be close as 18" wheels cut out some weight by size but are not forged.

The 370 18s are made by Enkei and are very lightweight. I recently downgraded to the 18s from the 19" Rays and during the process I lifted both sets numerous times. The 18s were very noticeably lighter by feel. I just don't know exactly what the 18s weigh. The 19" rears i know weigh 27 lbs without tires from many sources and personal experience.

we need someone to weigh theirs lol there is too much speculation. on the 350 the 18" wheels were a good bit heavier than the 19" forged rays.

The 18s are made by Enkei? I though the spare was done by Enkei and that was it (spare is 18").

yes i was told from atleast 5 members here who's changed them out that the oem 18s are made by Enkei. Unfortunately when i was installing them, i was in such a rush that i forgot to look but i don't doubt the sources.

So I was sitting up in bed with the laptop reading this thread and I got out of my warm bed and went down to my cold garage just for you guys. This better be worth a damn rep point

I switched over to my summer wheels and tires this past weekend, so the base 18's are off the car. Here's what I found (measured on a postal scale good up to 75 lbs., seems accurate enough).

Rear wheel with tire, balancing weights, valve stem and powdercoat weighed 50.9 lbs. The tire weighs about 29 lbs. (according to the interwebs), the weights and valve stem a few ounces, and the powdercoat - I have no idea but I'll guess between 1/2 lb. to 1 lb. That would make the rear wheel about 20.5 to 21 lbs.

Front wheel with tire, weights, valve stem and PC weighed 49.25 lbs. The smaller front tire weighs 27 lbs, so the net weight of the rim would be about the same as the rear.

I'm getting the tires dismounted in a few weeks to get two of the rims PC redone (damn carwash guide rails), I'll weigh the rims by themselves to prove or disprove some of this guesswork and will let you guys know.

And yep, they're enkeis...
