It's all about power to weight ratio and grip. The Z has the upper hand.

I have done extensive "testing" and so has Evan by the sounds of things ;)

Well I mean it wouldnt take much to get ours cars at the 300kw fly mark. Thats around 230kw @ the wheels.

I mean we have atleast 250-300kg less then a VE HSV.

lol extensive testing sounds interesting, i miss those days when i 1st got the 370, i've been driving around in a bright yellow mini for the past 6months
yes pwoer to weight is more acturate cause every1 seems to talk about kw and power. kw is only a unit of measurement at the peak, though nice for braging, doesnt show the true nature of the car unless they can take advantage of it's peak power and in our case in our daily drive, the 4k to 6k rpm zone is pretty much out of the question besides on 1st lol

but mayb thats just me cause i really dont want to lose my last point well not until at least another 2months

Yeah I agree totaly the 370z is a stunning looking car.

The issues truly are minor. I have installed a cold air intake and the Hi Tech CBE system. The performance gains where an extra 23.7 horsepower at the wheels.

The car for a naturaly aspirated 6, delivers the performance of an HSV.

HOT370! Please tell us that you're in Melbourne! We still haven't had a yellow on our cruises!

Can I just pipe in as an owner of the 2009 and 2010 models and say that it's been 3 weeks+ and no fuel gauge or boot issues so far.

I am however only using mobil and bp now and staying away from shell.

I had the fuel guage issue from day 1 - last LED wont light up-, but it took me a while to suss out it was a problem and not something I was doing.

Anyway, spoke w/dealer and we are going down the path of replacing the senders on Wed. I mentioned the chatter about it on these forums and he said, yes, its a recurring issue. I would assume that the dealers keep an ear open to the chatter on these forums - hell I would if I worked for Nissan facing customers or in the technical areas.

Anyway, we'll see what happens. I'm really not stressing too much about it. Just hope it doesn't cause additional problems...I don't know about you guys but more often than not getting one thing 'fixed' with them poking around can cause other issues. If it doesn't fix it I am going to let it go.

Its Off topic but talking about power to weight ratios, torque and maximum kw, how many are pursuing the route of lightening things up. Lighter wheels are a start but how about ditchinbg the seats with their very heavy heating units for some good quality replacements like the usual Recaro's. Would be interested to hear what difference that makes - what 30 kilos + ?? Other things? Body replacement kits?

Mr Ed 06-10-2010 07:28 PM

After many months of filling up and having all but the final LED light up, the final LED lit up after a refill.

I drove a fair bit yesterday and had to refill.

After I filled up, status quo returned and the final LED did not light up.

So it was a false dawn...

Bastards...... will have to note that down when I get the car serviced..

NB - BP Ultimate 98 fuel. I have used it all along.
