Z mats broken
I thought I would start a new thread on this issue. I havent seen this issue around the traps.
I am assuming that most owners own the Z mats as it is impossible to get aftermarket ones. Well, after 6 months of ownership and only 3,500kms, my Z mats plastic stamped holes have broken. http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/7793/zmats.jpg I took them into Nissan and was given a new set. This time, the holes were metal. Perhaps Nissan realised their error of their ways with the initial batch of Z mats in July 2009. Has anyone had this issue? If you have, don't tolerate this and get it rectified. |
Yeah my drivers side one broke after the first week.... I stepped on it as I got into the car and heard the crack.
I think my passenger one is still ok though. |
What dealer in Brisbane did you take them too Mr Ed?

Since you bought the car interstate, did you buy the Z mats with the car? If so, bring the purchase contract with you. You will get a 3 year warranty. However, if you purchased them at spare parts - you will only get a 1 year warranty. Again bring your receipts! |
Mine did the same thing only a week after getting it.

Yep I had mine replaced too - however the new ones have already knackered themselves so I'll be going back for another set.

It appears Nissan have produced a set of mats with metal rings. |
yep mine busted too - taking into nissan tommorow hope i get the metal ones
|
Yep, broken too. How did you guys go with the replacements? Easy claim?
|
Yep I got new mats with the metal rings.

Its probably a common issue. Given that Nissan started with plastic rings and then moved to metal rings indicated a seriously flaw. But one would wonder with all those years of vehicle manufacturing that it would not be prudent to make plastic rings? |

Yep, my drivers side just broke the other day.
It's booked in for its 20,000K service next week so I will mention it then. |
I'm going to take mine in this week for this and the fuel guage issue.
Does anyone know if the standard Z mats are the only replacement option available in Australia or can we pay a bit extra to upgrade to decent JDM style mats with heel pads and pedal moldings, etc. thanks |

Will it be the sensor or the actual guage??? I'm guessing sensor.... |

I got the mats replaced with the same plastic clip ones under warranty today. The metal ones were not on the system, so they said just keep bringing them back and we'll give you a new set each time they break. Nice. :)
The fuel guage problem was disgnosed down to one of the two senders used in the 370. They are orderring both senders from Japan and will call when they are ready to install. The electronic cluster tested fine. |
Same here, as the passenger-side mat has a ring that fell apart within the first 200 miles of ownership.

Mine getting worse, on my last fill 3 lights did not lid up :shakes head:
GTRFAN: please let us know if the new sender(s) will fix this. :tiphat: Btw, those rings in my carpet still hold up...., cross fingers! |
Mine at the moment is only 1 light that won't light up.... still annoying lol.
It's nothing major but one of those things that eats at you over time haha. |

My drivers side mat also broke the plastic clip, the dealer ordered a new set, and also the new tailgate springs, so I should be able to nip in monday to get them both sorted.
|
I had both my mats replaced again today for the second time (however I did specifically request the ones with the metal eyelets this time).
Anyone who needs the part number: G4900-1E000AU Cheers, Stu |
so wierd guys my last led for fuel indicator seems to be working again...........maybe its slowly dying............highly unlikely this affects anything but last two fills have been bp and mobil........used to always use bp and that was fine.................when it started playing up i was using shell................ah well hope it stays working
