Just confirmed with my dealer this morning that my 2010 will have the 19inch rims.. Whoo...hooo.

Well you clearly are not one that bought the 09 with 18's then. If you were I'm sure you would be annoyed like myself and many others that feel ripped off. Especially when they coming out std, for the same price and within 5 months of buying it.

First off, if they are standard I will be seriously pissed off with Nissan to the point of never buying a new car from them again. The rims were the one thing I wanted when it was first released and looking at these shitty 18's makes me hate the car overall.... (it just ruins the cars overall appearance and performance)
Are we sure they are standard? Because their latest catalogue still shows the roadster as the only one having the 19's, the coupe is still listed with the 18's |

I agree. What sucks here is that the price remains the same with 19s (if in fact the 19s will actually be standard). But for us with 18s who want 19s what do we have to pay? Over $5,000 is it? Without tires.
It was definitely a dilemma for me at the time of buying - I wanted Yellow and 19" Wheels. |

They'll update the spec list as soon as the info about the 19" is public. Quote:
You know, we do have another option....Today Tonight or one of those "customer gets shafted by the big corporations" tv shows. Sure, a few of us will upgrade to aftermarket wheels, but it's about the principle of the matter and the lack of honesty and customer service that pisses me off.

Yeah i'd support an angry letter to nissan asking wtf and threatening today tonight action.
If it was extra for the 19's i def wouldn't have got them but to now come as standard issue... >< I wise person did once tell me to never by the first gen of any car... should have listened Though on the brighter side (those who use the car as a DD) we do get better ride compliance, slightly less noise and cheaper reshoeing costs... who am I kidding, I'm pissed off... Update: thinking about it the 19"s on the new car make sense. Then people can't ask for extra discounts due to the tariff reduction... the government just paid for the larger, prettier shoes... Considering I was fully prepared for the fact that the price may drop due to the tariff reduction, I'm now at peace with Nissan's decision to hold the price and re-shoe the thing... i couldn't have waited til April to take delivery, I had to sell the polo before the new polo got announced else my resale price would have been smashed. However, If people want to start a mass movement at Nissan I'll be part of it to add weight to the cause. Just thought of another positive... my wheels are far less likely to be stolen now =)... yes i'm still pissed off Last edited by gumpy; 03-03-2010 at 01:19 AM. |

Nissan Australia should at least offer the 19s to 2009 customers at a discounted price, or have some type of trade-in deal on the wheels.
Not having 19s even as an option for 2009 was where all this B.S started. |

I don't understand Nissans logic..
The 2010 370z comes with the 19inch wheel standard. However, the website and brochures (which arn't cheap to print) all show the 18inch wheels along side the convertible with it's 19's. Sorry guys, Its been done before. 2008 EVO X MR owners tryed it and MY08 WRX owners tryed it. When you sign on the dotted line for your vehicle with that Vin. Thats it.... The only way you would get "good will" would be via your dealership NOT Nissan direct. Just dont worry guys. Wait 6months.. Heaps of 19inch wheels will pop up on ebay. Hmm, my 2010 370z is due to arrived this month and comes with 18" wheels. I'm now seriously considering pay the $1300 cancelling fee and cancel my order, then reorder the 2010 with 19" wheels....

Nissan has always updated their cars every 12-24 months so getting 19" is not at all surprising. If someone was seriously dupped by the car dealers telling them 19" will never come to Aust than they should check their heads - just look at the US market, nobody bought the car with the 18's and of course Nissan decided just to drop the ugly 18's completely. The brochure people refer to still shows MY2009, so please don't refer to it, there are no MY2010 brochures out yet, just some silly bulletins. |

MY2010 cars will be built from March, arrive in April. I wouldn't stress over wheels too much buddy - 1300 is alot to cop as a loss, plus you should be aware that MY2010's will not go for cheap like the MY2009's are going for. You can pick up a brand new MY2009 for less than 62K these days, good luck getting a MY2010 for that much, or little. Save the cancellation fee and the money from buying a cheaper MY09 model and just get a set of Volks. The car is made for Volks anyway. |

Exactly - but do you know how much would that option be - probably 3K or more, so I'd rather spend my money on a proper set of rims, instead of these stock 19's from Nissan.

are the 18's really that ugly? i personally think they look great =)
Only thing i don't like about them is the fact that it's hard to find a replacement tyre... 225/50r18's are a damn weird size... but seriously guys, the nissan change is due to the the tariff drop... they didn't want to sell it cheaper so they're wacking on the 19's... it's MY2011 upgrade with direct injection that's gonna hurt... |
