Suspension mods
I am going to order some Eibach springs and Whiteline sways pretty soon. Does anyone have any good contacts and prices for these in Australia? The Whiteline stuff is local so I will go direct but the Eibachs seem to vary a lot in price.
Anyone else want to do a group buy on these?

Yeah I don't like the rice titanium tips either, but that can be fixed easilly. The sound, no drone and no rasp has sold me compared to Still and FI.

I emailed whiteline regarding their swaybars and they said its still in early development, they're planning to release it early 2010.
as for the invidia catback + HFCs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOlMkWvUWGI it sounds nice just by itself on their prototype vids, but when combined w berk hfc's it sounds quite different - and a fair bit more rasp? edit: my bad, the vid's of the old design - the new one sounds awesome ! Yeah it is a nice sounding exhaust, but keep in mind, whatever you get, you'll end up with a little rasp when you change out the cats. I considered changing my cats back to stock (not for rasp but loudness), but was told not to. The stock cats are very restrictive and most of the power gains actually came from the cats and not the exhaust. Don't forget, the Stillen exhaust by itself is pretty quiet and has no rasp at all...
I'm used to the sound now, without the cats, I think any exhaust would be relatively tame. I absolutely love the burble I have though, just sitting at the lights it almost sounds like an 8. Sitting in 4th gear at about 60kph sounds absolutely amazing - just like an 8! |

Hi Darren, Thanks for the email. Unfortunately our 370Z part numbers are still in the early stages of development and are still yet to be officially released. We expect to all be good around mid February.

I'm doing the same set up eibach springs and whiteline sways (when they come out). Forget sourcing the springs here (aust) get them from overseas as they want over $700 Aus for them here. Swaybars installed should be about $750 installed when they come out

Make sure we all chat when ready to buy as we can save with a group buy. Do we need a camber kit for a basic Eibach drop? I really like the look and feel of a mild neg camber setup, so I may leave it. Are we talking less than negative 2deg?

Fulcrum suspensions can sell a set of TEIN coilovers for a 370Z.
They havent told me a fixed price yet, but it will be aroud $3000-$4000 Too pricey considering I only wanted to spent $1500. For those who are interested, King Springs (Gold Coast) need a 370Z as a development vehicle. They need a car for a week. Needless to say, I said no cos $400 springs is not worth a week of them thrashing my car.... If they were going to do coil overs, it would have been a different story! |

Yeah I would definitely say no to King Springs developement, not because they aren't good but because of what you said about them thrashing it around testing the springs.
$4000 for coilovers on a Z is ridiculous. If it were a time attack GTR then maybe, but our Z's are daily cars and not hardcore circuit monsters and probably never will be. There are plenty of decent coilovers from japan in the $1500 range. email this guy as he lives in Japan and can source any part. He is highly recommended by the Silvia forum guys. dartsun75@gmail.com Jesse Streeter | Anything from Japan, fast! | dartsun75@gmail.com
