Skidpan
I joined some 300ZX brethren yesterday at the Mt Cotton skidpan (Brisbane)and had a great day. Of course, it took ages to get the 370 clean again.
Some interesting observations. First is that with the VDC engaged, its literally impossible to get out of shape. It didn't matter how slippery the skidpan was, I could not get the 370 sideways. The other thing is that even with it switched off, it's still active to some degree. I still had to work hard at times to get oversteer and understeer was always managed. Previously, I could come into a corner and the understeer would just take me straight ahead. In the 370, I could feel the traction control working on the front wheels and the Z always came round the corner. Anyway, here's a quick video: Last edited by BluZ; 11-01-2009 at 01:30 AM. |

Blue is the new black.
It's at the Mt Cotton driver training centre. They only do group bookings so you have to either organise a day yourself, or get invited to one someone else is organising. This day was run by the local 300zx club. |

Keep an eye on the 300zx forum - The Australian 300zx Owners Association - Powered by vBulletin. They organise one from time to time. Feel free to join and say hello. There's also Welcome to aus350Z.com that includes a 370 forum, but it's a bit quite at the moment.
The cost is about $120 each for 4 hours. With 12 people you get 4 - 6 runs, depending on the length of each run. |

i took my car out on the skid pan this weekend and like BluZ i couldnt get the Z sideways at first i kept spinning out or the car would jst over-steer but i soon got the hang of it and was doing quite well have this car does not want to drift! also i have the 7AT so that was also a problem... I managed to stall the engine a couple of times wen spinning out and coming to a stop.. Could this have caused any damage to the car?????
