Australian Sales Figures

I think the sales figures for 370Z's in Australia must be at an all-time high, as despite me contacting four seperate dealerships, I cannot get a firm realistic quote out of them.

I am seriuosly looking at buying a 370, yes I do have a trade-in which I will not let go for peanuts, but to get any type of service out of these guys, is so hard. It appears they do not need my business!!

Hey,

I just traded in my Car last week and the 370z. Its not a problem in Sydney. I got equity on my car as well. So people are interested in your business..you just have to find the right dealership.

are you being realistic with respect to the wholesale value of your monaro.

no offence, but holden/fords have poor wholesale prices.

however, when trading a ford/holden for another one, given the fat in the cars, it makes you think its a 'great deal'.

NB I also own an FPV GT and waiting for the day when I trade it in to be seriously offended

Colesy 10-23-2009 04:21 AM

I understand about what you say about wholesale value Mr Ed, but $14k is ridiculous. I am certainly not expecting the market value than can be up to $28k on some vehicles, but just a decent change over figure would be appreciated, especially as some of the dealers are now multi-franchise, and have a Holden department.

With Holdens u get hammered irrespective of the model. Having owned one I was shocked to say the least at the value of my car which was maintained immaculately and barely broke 30k on to the clock the price was about 70 percent devalued. It was very disappointing.

What car did you trade Sap, what sort of value did you get for it, and more importantly what dealer did you go through?

I don't think the sales figures are particularly high, I see more R35s on the road than I do 370s Probably 10:1 ratio lol. The thing is that production of the 370z was cut 66% when it was first released in the States, meaning Australia isn't getting many (since we are on the arse end of the world) hence the dealers being difficult with pricing as they know you want one but no one else has stock, so they don't have much to worry about.....

That's probably true evse82, but I really thought they would be interested in a sale.

Welcome to the world of car sales lol. It's all about making u think they don't want the business. Which state you in anyways?

I'm in Queensland mate. For some reason the prices appear higher up here, which is why I have been trying interstate.

Mr Ed 10-23-2009 07:07 PM

maybe you can buy the Z without a trade and sell your car privately?

Colesy 10-23-2009 07:25 PM

I know that is the best option Mr Ed, but to be honest I have held off advertising the car, as I know there would be a load of tyre-kickers and time wasters out there just wanting to have a thrash in a Monaro. I suppose ideally I would have loved just an easy change over, even if I dropped a few dollars because of it. But I suppose I will have to sell it privately beforehand, it appears the only option with the way the dealers are.

Trade ins are a scam, don't ever do it. Sell your car on carsales now and just get a run around until you get the Z.

I helped a guy in Perth get a good deal from a Vic dealer. PM me if you want assistance.

Does anyone here know when the other colour interior options will be offered here in Aus?
