Ground hum noise from speakers
 

Not sure if it is just my imagination but I can hear engine hum through the cars stock base audio system. Almost similar to a stuck viscous fan coupling when you rev it makes the same sound.

I connect my Samsung phone via headphone cable to the aux in of the stock radio. Could this be the issue?

try to isolate the noise. Is it present when using AM or FM, Disc, or just with phone and cable? If so, it may be your jack, or more than likely, just try a new cable.

Thanks, I will have to do more isolation tests, so far just turning off the stock HU worked. Will post back after.

I'm guessing it's the phone connection.

If you get the noise in all modes then check the power and speaker wiring. Radio mode only: check the antenna wiring. CD only: shouldn't happen as wiring is internal. Other modes: check source wiring.

Must have been one off, done further tests I cant hear the engine rpm noise anymore than usual through the speakers.

By the way our cooling fans are all electric on our cars right? LOL.

I know when I use my Aux cord and connect my phone to the car charger. I do get noice through the system.

If you mean the radiator fans then, yes, they are Gold Medallion.

Yeah since it sounded just like a viscous fan coupling stuck. I'm sure you know with that when u rev the car the fans also spins quicker. Making that roar noise. Haha.
