If you're dropping in a Nexus 2013 you'll want to give Timur's ROM a look. That plus Tasker and an OTG cable makes for an OEM like start/sleep/resume cycle which is awesome. Waiting on a good cubby mod to get one put in my Z but I have a Nexus 7 in my Frontier, which I custom mounted that is really sweet. Wish I'd done a how-to while I was fabricating it. Low budget and looks very much OEM. If you're installing in a removable manor, with Timur's rom, when the OTG cable is unplugged the tablet reverts to stock power on/off settings.
https://timur.mobi/timurs-kernel-n7-2013/ If anyone has questions I can do my best to help, though I'm not affiliated with the ROM itself. Just a very happy user. Last edited by Crypto2k; 02-09-2015 at 05:43 PM. |

Did not mean to bring this back up but I have been thinking the same thing the OP has, just want a clip-on 3d-printed "bracket" or "holder" for a tablet.
I may just do one for my phone temporarily but something that just clips on to the cubby's edges and lets you lay your tablet in place in front of the cubby. That way, you don't lose the storage and you can still have access to buttons etc...

I made this one myself out of bass wood. It's totally removable. I also removed the cubby door. Behind it is a pair of gauges when I need them. One screw and the whole thing comes out.
I hope the links work. The tablet mount: Nissan 370Z Forum - Corsairprime's Album: 370Z Nismo Car mods - Picture The gauges that sit behind: Nissan 370Z Forum - Corsairprime's Album: 370Z Nismo Car mods - Picture

Hope that helps getting you started and good luck! I know mine has been a huge process. More than I expected but I am also doing a complete dash redesign too.
