If you can do it to the specs that the sub needs, then more power to you. Most, if not all of the JL Stealthbox's are made from fiberglass custom molded to fit wherever they choose to install the stealthbox. They know the best way to design the enclosure so you get the maximum benefit of the sub.
Not knocking on you, I just rather have a well known and respected audio company to make the Stealthbox for me since they have all the technical know-how. I would do a custom fiberglass box as a 2nd resort, and the Z enclosures as a last resort. |

JL also makes a sub that goes into the spare tire for the Mazda 3. If they could do that it would be perfect. You do lose a little bit of dept but to me that's stealth. It would look completely stock.

I have a stealth box in my car, made by my friends dad, with two 6.5" kickers. I painted it black to match the foam. Those are subwoofers by the way.

Nice, now that's what I'm talking about.... it sits down in the spare correct? This can also be done with one 10" thinline sub. How do the 2 6"s sound? John |

Jowe, how does putting the carpet down effect sound quality. I know that at sub frequency ranges it shouldn't make a huge difference but I am just curious if there is anything weird that goes on. I was looking at a memphis shallow mount 10 for this area and since you have paved the way any insight into issues would be great.
